Re: Kessler faster than Calzaghe???
Kessler has an underrated jab. I think he keeps it in Joe's face and set's up the right hand. In a result that will shock a lot of people (not me) Kessler stops Joe early. 3rd or 4th round.

Agreed 100%.
Hands down Kess hits harder...but he'll have a harder time getting off than Joe due to the fact that Joe could throw standing on his head & more accurate...not being literal...but you get the point. ;)
I agree with some of this but Joe does leave himself open and no one has been able to take advantage of this but Kessler will because Kessler is much more skilled than any of Calzaghe's opponent's by a long shot i see Calzaghe outworking Kessler but i can also see Kessler picking his spots and getting Calzaghe with his jab i think this fight will be amazing clash of style's i have been changing my mind about this alot but im going with Kessler by decision.
Kessler has impressed me Wacko i think this fight will bring out a new star in boxing aka Kessler.
The way that I see it is this:
Kessler is the only one out there that I truly believe could hurt Joe...maybe even stop him...but that's a big maybe.
Joe's got a hell of a beard & anytime it's been tested he comes right back & checks his opponent. I aint so sure that Kess has the jingle in his jeans to be able to handle someone like that.
While Kessler has pulled some impressive stingers lately...he has only faced one fighter that I really believe is of caliber & that was Andrade. The others have been either no hopers or in the game too long.
Calzaghe faced some pretty stiff opposition in their primes but they weren't names that the average fight fan could recognize...especially my U.S. bretheren of the ring.
Apples to apples many fight fans compare them evenly matched as far as the record goes...I for one would have to just wait & see because no matter what anyone thinks...Kess is at the top of his game right now while Joe is lagging on certain aspects.
This will not be the blow out that Lacy was.
Andrade much better than Mundine? Really? I think Mundine is better, or atleast as good. He did much better v Kess than Librado. Any reason u rate Andrade higher?
Re: Kessler faster than Calzaghe???
I think their speed is pretty even except when Calzaghe starts throwing combinations.
Re: Kessler faster than Calzaghe???
Sven Ottke has a lot of respect for Kessler. Saying he has as good footwork as he had in his prime. But he (Kessler) hits a lot harder. Only thing that worries me for a Kessler win is his chin. Kessler has never been tested 112%

True. Kessler is going to be hit more, and most likely harder, than ever before.

Nice to see someone critically appraising the situation and examining both sides of Kessler's situation, il CC you in a bit.

Same could be said for Joe. I think both fighters will be facing their hardest opponent of their career.
Re: Kessler faster than Calzaghe???
Kessler doesn't hit as hard as Lacy, will be more accurate, faster and will land more often, but not as hard.

He does hit extremely hard, and i would hesitate to say Lacy hits harder.
Re: Kessler faster than Calzaghe???
His jab and straight right are beautiful, no doubt they carry power. But lacy, albeit an inferior boxer to both Calzaghe and Kessler, is in my opinion and no doubt in the opinion of many is perhaps the hardest puncher in the SM division and potentailly the LH division also.
Re: Kessler faster than Calzaghe???
We'll see who's faster when they start the fight.

Maybe,
But ive seen Calzaghe's chin pass the test on numerous occasions - dunno about Kessler.
As for Kessler's power, he couldn't put a dent in china-chin Mundine, whats Calzaghe got to worry about?
Re: Kessler faster than Calzaghe???
He landed some big punches on Beyer tho and its a miracle Andrade went the distance.

Beyer was finished, and ive seen him hurt plenty of times, Glenn Catley sparked him in his pomp.
Yes Andrade has a good chin.

In no way denying Beyer was done. Jus i felt that the punches thrown that Night by Kessler were among his most accurate and most powerful.
Andrade has one of the best chins in boxing.
