Thats not a bad option, altho we'll probably see him against a few more 20-40 ranked fighters who have no power so that he can get a title shot before ever being tested. And when he does get a title fight and if it is against a top guy he'll get KTFO.
I think Froch is a decent fighter even worthy of the top ten. However i think that there is just such a vast disparity between the "top" guys and the "elite" guys like Kessler n Calzaghe that he won't make it to the top.

Froch has a poor defence i don't see him beating the elite fighters.

My thoughts exactly.
Re: Question for tam seddon - ref: Froch
Ting is when you have the KO power he does then your always in with a shot at beating anyone in the division.
The Reid fight is personal and a good tune up fight (the guy has just had serious knee surgery at the end of the day).
Reid will have a right good go i'm sure but will be stopped within 7 rounds :)
I do agree that the Cobra needs to get his skates on at his age!!

No, hes in his 30's ;D
I think at his advanced age that we have already seen the best of him
I think he will turn out much like Audley, big mouth promising alot and did well in the amatures, knocking a few journey men over.
As soon as anyone with experience or heart gets in with him, game over
Carl is slow on his feet, he tries posing but is left out of position byt he time he decides to throw, his left is always low, he is easily outjabbed, he isnt used to fighting the distance.
I hope it happens against Reid but these are flaws he should have ironed out already at 30 I think its too late, its deffo too late to be dipping his toe as it were in to world class, Robin is the first fighter that carl has fought who has been anywhere near a world title
I really feel robin is gonna make Carl look silly, the one thing id worry about Robin is at his age fighting someone younger whos busy but Froch fights at a slow pace and will be russty
This will be Magee v Reid over again, touted young contender v old name, at least Magee had fought a world rated fighter and former title holder in Cherifi to guage his talent
Although Robin couldnt finish Magee he did have him down 4 times, Carl couldnt put him down that many, Magee was scared of Robins power and held, he made it hard for Robin to land, Magee out boxed Froch until he got careless

He got bummed by Lacy, and i feel froch hits a lot harder than lacy.
Froch ko first 5 rounds.
HAHAHAHA Tam i set this question for you as a Froch fan.
AND i feel hes wasting time with nothing fights , well on the one hand you defended his oponants :)
then you make this statement which is how the rest of us feel .... i quote -
" Reid is old and wasted up hes going to get knocked down , he looked old and slow in his last fight !!!!!!!!"
Doesnt this kinda sum it all up and that from the mouth of a Froch fan ?
I mean hes wot 29 already ?
I dont think Reid is the best fighter either. but what would you prefer? seeing froch inactive until spring? or getting some good experience in and fighting people? I know Froch will win and he will do it in style.
As for people calling him a fraud, dont say that untill he gets stopped because he hasnt done much wrong yet really. Hes knocked out his last fighters and looked the best he ever has in his last couple. Sergey wasnt no bum either and has gone the distance with some very good figherrs and Froch did him early. Just wait and see until his next one.

Tam im not saying he is a bad fighter , im saying he really needs big fights at his age , Robin Reid is a no win fight , if he looks bad then hes a nobody, and if he wins easy then Reid is shot , see my point ?

Undefeated against domestic level opponents and journeymans.

yer i do but im just trying to say that the JC fight fell through and he wants to defend his title and the lack of fighters at this momment means he cant fight the best. But ill say it again, he has to have his shot against the WBC holder in spring 08. But i think the next one will be bigger than Reid.

In reality Reid is a domestic level journeyman whose claim to fame is a close loss to Calzaghe 8 years ago.
Re: Question for tam seddon - ref: Froch
Froch was interviewed after the Thaxton fight last night and he really does have alot of confidence in his own skills.
" I dont get involved in fights , i use my slick boxing to win"
Well try fighting a guy who is any good then we can judge you Carl !!!!
I mean Lacy hammerd Robin Reid a few years ago so wot is this going to prove at all ????

He has to fight it to defend his British crown, Reid is old i admit and this doesnt prove a lot, but i would prefer to see him fight Reid than nobody.
Re: Question for tam seddon - ref: Froch
Froch was an awesome amateur and has mega offensive skills, BUT his defence sucks a$$ and he WILL get caught when he steps up!
