CC#102 on me eagle for mentioning 'El Flaco Explosivo' defintely underrated and under appreciated.

The man is legendary...... He is the ONLY boxer whos been Champion in 3 weight classes, defended every title he had at least once and NEVER lost a Championship fight. I think he does get placed low in all time P4P rankings and he is less talked about then the likes of other fighters who did less then he.
I've had that avatar picture of him dropping 'El Puas' from day 1 here at Saddos, I changed it once to commemarate Sanchez vs. Gomez.

Arguello's biggest weakness was once sharing a ring with Jim Watt. Just like a top musician deciding to record a duet with Britney Spears that kind of association can ruin an otherwise unblemished career :-\

watt was a good fighter, he was tough and rugged and i got his autograph at the first Hodkinson Villasana fight. now that was a good fight. not as good as Holligan Ekubia, that was the most exciting live bout ive ever seen. complete madness all the way through, never seen an atmosphere like it.

CutmeMick,where has Tuctan gone? I remember when I first became a boxing fan,joined this site and heard of a boxer called Argullo,and he told me EVERYTHING about him. LOL,I think you are at least the third or fourth person with whom I have debated about Margarito and then,a short period of time passes and you become a fan/ackowledge he is better than you initially admitted too! Hey I'm the driver of the Margarito bandwagon,there's plenty more space to jump aboard! If nothing else,he's an exciting fighter although I personally believe he'll be back amongst the elite WW sooner or later!

Thanks :coolclick: i can't believe i still haven't got around to watching Rafael Limon vs Bobby Chacon either.

But im going to be looking up for some Arguello fights from now on and watching as many of his fights as possible i always wanted to see his fight with Jose Luis Ramirez aswell.

Thanks,CC back. I highly recommend you try to see as many of his fights as possible and you are missing out by not watching Bozooka v Schoolboy,thats one of the greatest fights of all time in my opinion.

Well he's got a quality that i like. Its a quality he's got in common with Muhammad Ali, Julio Caesar Cahavez, Salvador Sanchez, Willie Pep, Sugar Ray Robinson, Sugar Ray Leonard, Marvin Hagler, Carlos Monzon and all the true boxing greats.
He always gives it his all.
Now his all might no allow him to be as great as the aforementioned, but he gives just as much and performs to the very best of his physical ability.
You have to respect a man like that.

yeah, i remember that too. ganigan is hawaiian based filipino. when navarette lost to alexis, ganigan was supposed to redeem the philippines from that lost but was ko'ed himself which solidified arguello's legendary status in the p.i.

imo ezzard charles i the most underated fight ever Arguello does deserve to be recongnize like Duran

I completely agree on the Kessler fight, that was the only full fight of Kesslers I have seen and he really impressed me with his ring generalship and solid technique. Man eagle then you would have had some fun with 'tuctan' and I before he and I used to chat on threads and thru PM's about Arguello and many other latin fighters. tuctan hasnt' posted here in over a year I would say but to me his posts still echo here. tuctan was also from Nicaragua and has fought in 2 wars and survived a illness that landed him in the hospital. He had lived in Nicaragua, Mexico, Los Angeles, Florida and other places.
I learned a lot from tuctan....

Everytime Arguellos name get's mentioned I think of tuctan what a good guy he was.
He started writing it during that time in late 2005 I think.
