I have to give you an SC for that comment.....Because to make that comment it tells me one of two things....Either you know nothing of CW div or Holyfield before his HW years OR...You are a big fan of Haye and are looking past boxing knowledge just to hype your guy up...either way it was a dumb a** comment.....
At CW Holyfield was in his absolute prime and a menace....Haye would not even make it a competitive bout for more then 3 or so rounds
3 rounds come on- let's not get silly. My comment was maybe tongue in cheek but at the sametime I was watching Holyfields very impressive march through the Cruiserweights He beat and I watched at the time; Tillman and Rickey Parkey etc - he beat them impressively but they are hardly the stuff of legends.
David Haye has judgement day against Mormeck coming up. Mormeck is a worthy champion and very good fighter - if Haye wins that which is not certain then I rest my case.
You gave me a sad click for an opinion - fine upto you, my opinion is not yours and in life you have to accept that others will not have the same opinion.
Make no mistake the SC was not for your opinion I respect everyones opinion...It was for suggesting that Haye beat Holyfield!!!!.......
I never give an SC for an honest opinion....Even one I do not agree with....
If you said Holyfield sucked as a cruiserweight I would have just said you are crazy....
It's nothing personal

CC very well said...Thats what makes legends and P4P greats!!!
Still not sure why you gave me an SC- you made alot of noise without specifically saying why.
Regardless you are wrong.
And I will teach you all a lesson. David Haye beats Holyfield because he is faster and a better technical boxer while also possessing greater power.
Mormeck is just as good if not greater than any opponent Holyfield ever faced.
David Haye after Lennox is the next truly great fighter this planet will witness.

I think I did explain why somewhere but just in case I didn't....It has to do with the comparison of Holyfield and Haye.....Just like you stated in your last post....You are actually trying to say Haye is a better fighter at CW thne Evander was.....That is CRAZY...WTF has Haye accomplished? Seriously what?...If you would have said Mormeck or Bell then at least you could have a sound arguement...you are just using your opinion as a fan not with actual boxing knowledge...Just because you like a guy does not make him greater then an established legend.......Haye has never even been in the ring with a guy of Holyfields caliber....Hell he has never even sparred with a guy like Holyfield.....
If you had stated that you think Haye has the potential to be greater then Evander, that would have been different but you stated he was better then Holly was....the guy has not even held world title gold yet......stating he is faster and a better technical boxier is crap....
His stamina sucks,,and all around boxing skills are not that great sorry to say..and Evander at CW was a pretty hard puncher in his own right.....
Even if I did acknowledge the fact Haye was faster a better boxer and stronger which I don't..All Evander would do if that was the case is bring Haye to war and that would be that....NO F'IN WAY HAYE BEATS HOLYFIELD IN A TOE TO TOE WAR!!!!
I should give you another SC for even mentioning Haye in the same breath as Lennox....Again that shows you speak as a fan not as a guy using boxing knowledge

Re: How would 80's Evandor Holyfield do against the current Cruiserweights
He'd smack them all up.
Evander was at his best in 1986/7 & those were his prime cruiserweight years & I just don't see any of the current crop worrying him too much.
Re: How would 80's Evandor Holyfield do against the current Cruiserweights
Their is only two hypothetical fights at Cruiser where Holyfield isn't an automatic lock to destroy. He kills all of the current crop.
Prime Holyfield vs Prime Roy Jones Jr at 194 - that would have been something. At the current 200 limit, Prime Holyfield vs James Toney 2002-3 (Jirov era) would have been test, but I would still give it to Holyfield.
Re: How would 80's Evandor Holyfield do against the current Cruiserweights
How can you compare Haye to Lennox you are cray khan and i question your boxing knowledge now
Re: How would 80's Evandor Holyfield do against the current Cruiserweights

No worries...
Re: How would 80's Evandor Holyfield do against the current Cruiserweights
there is only 3-4 fighters in the CW history that Evander doesn't beat hands down and neither Haye or any of the current are on that list. Jones/Toney/Spinks would all be close fights.

Thanks for adding Spinks to the list. I forgot about him, and I suppose some of the earlier HW's who were really CW size, like Charles, Patterson, and Marciano would have made great fights with Evander at 194, but since the creation of CW, those are the only ones in the same class.
Re: How would 80's Evandor Holyfield do against the current Cruiserweights
He would overwhelm them late & knock them out .....fugly style no doubt.

You know it's a slow week here, when people are searching all the way back to October last year to dig up a post worth commenting on... :lickish:
It was the CC's & SC's only a couple of posts up that gave it away ;D
Considering the thread is back in circulation though, Holyfield would eat threw the lot of them and still have room for lunch and dinner! Lords Gym had a great post on the first page that is still worthy of reps today...
Great Great fights make the whole division have to fight better! Because you know when your going into a fight with them, they are going to be giving 100%, and unless you give 150%, your going down... early....
I think this is what the heavyweight division lacks at the moment... A few of these type of mosters
Re: How would 80's Evandor Holyfield do against the current Cruiserweights
Todays CW wouldn't stand a chance vs. Holy.....
He would beat them like step children. ;D

In light of current events that's a beauty
;D
Re: How would 80's Evandor Holyfield do against the current Cruiserweights
I don't want to discuss this
it's bad enough him fighting in his forties never mind contemplating him still being active in another four decades time :-\
