ODLH didn't look anymore "rusty," against Ricardo Mayorga (who he thoroughly trashed when they fought)than he did against Floyd Mayweather Jr.
The only difference was that Oscar was up against a good fighter the first time, but up against an elite fighter the second time.
Hope this helps ;)
Re: Is there anyone out there to give Mayweather a good boxing match
Taeth-You could be right but I wasnt that impressed with Floyds speed vs Oscar TBH . Mosley isnt as quick as he was but hes quicker than Floyd from what I can see . Judah looked quicker too especially early on . Yeah i'd admit Floyd has better footwork . He was great against Baldy and Gatti . In those fights Floyd really looked the part but you would do against guys of that calibre . Technical ability id give Floyd the edge over Shane. We dont really know about who has teh better chin but my guess would be Shane .
I just feel Floyds never met a guy like Shane before and he amost dropped decisions to guys like Castillo and a washed up Oscar so I reckon Shane has a real chance here .
Re: Is there anyone out there to give Mayweather a good boxing match
If it were ever possible ..Even though time is nowhere close
For floyd to have met Roy Jones Or James Toney they both would have embarrassed him

I disagree. It's just a different kind of boxing match. Plenty of southpaws are pure boxers. If Spinks was orthodox, with his skill set, he could give still Mayweather problems, though I'll repeat, Floyd would win any day.

I think Paulie Mallinaggi. Look at both of their styles and they are very similar. If Im wanting a ko I would pick Cotto.

LOL,Taeth, just when I think you're starting to make some cool threads and posts and you come out with "Fight a southpaw isn't a pure boxing match"?! What the hell is that man! There are few purer boxers than Spinks and Paulie! ;D

I wasn't going to mention it but since El G brought it up....WTF is fight a southpaw not pure boxing match mean anyway?.....because the guy is lefty he cant be considered a pure boxer?...or because they are opposite stances the fight between the two can not be pure boxing because they do not stand the same?....
I am just curious

Re: Is there anyone out there to give Mayweather a good boxing match
By the time the fight happen shane will be 37 and i think he is getting to old i mean to face the pound for pound when you are far off your prime is hard to pull out a win not every one is B hop 37 is old in the ring i do not think Shane can beat a prime PBF when his prime was gone a while ago
Re: Is there anyone out there to give Mayweather a good boxing match
Paul Williams (with his reach and high punch output) and Spinks are my best guesses
Re: Is there anyone out there to give Mayweather a good boxing match
It sounds somewhat silly... But not saying paulie would beat him but he would def give him fucking fits..
Floyd hasnt fought coming forward forever.. And in all fiarness thats not even his a game..
But paulie wouldnt come forward against him.. Just to stay slick and on the move and keep his jab going and stay busy and outwork an opponent is Paulies game..
And yet..No one thinks paul is gona beat on floyd.. But if he takes 7 rounds and floyd took 5 its all the same on the record ;)
Like george foreman used to say.. You dont need to do anything big just come in take the rounds and steal the fight right from under his nose ;) :)

He was saying that when Mayweather(specifically) fights a southpaw, it isn't likely to be a pure boxing or chess match because Floyd is forced to become the agressor against lefty's.. Not sure I totally agree but then that was entirely the case against Judah and I can't even think of other lefty's Floyd has fought so maybe it's good logic. either way he wasn't saying southpaws in general can't be pure boxers, just that Floyd won't be able to box conventionally against them.
Re: Is there anyone out there to give Mayweather a good boxing match
Why doesn't anyone mention Cory Spinks?

You're late, Majesty. Spinks has been mentioned, but Taeth doesn't think southpaws count. Now people are debating Spinks vs Mayweather is a pure boxing match because Mayweather fights southpaws differently. That should bring you up to speed.
