Re: Cintron vs Williams Official
Paul Williams "Defeated" Antonio Margarito....There That gets it for me.
Margarito lost because he failed to respect Williams skills and stamina.
Let me say this,I admire, appreciate, respect and am probally one of the Biggest Margarito Fans ( save Gamo ::** Lol and a few others just kidding Gamo) On this forum. He ass-umed his standard fare and output would carry the day and absolutely Blew the first 4 rounds. He turned it up midway and with the cut I think Williams was Rattled.I had Williams up by 2 points at end. :-[
All that said Margarito is coming back fierce and rugged. He'll kick in the door and demand respect.Hes a two fisted Assassin who realizes his short comings (slow starter,Gets hit a little too much w/left Hks,and could be more active w/schedule) and should He Rematch Williams I see Him BEATING on him and correcting the errors of 1st fight. He is a Humble down to earth guy outside the ring from what I've seen but inside He really Has a not to subtle mean streak that needs to be Shined up and shown more.
I think Cintron beats Williams.Call it twisted logic but its how I feel and what I believe will happen.Williams Is a busy, busy fighter with hands and a physical oddity in reach/height.He keeps his head In the air, sabotages his height benefits at times as he "falls" over his own reach(smothers) and those "rah-rah" comparisons to Hearns are goofy.I see him as pretty hittable especially with L.hooks but thus far has shown a Good chin.......THUS FAR.I see him as Green and a work In progress .Cintron
also has long power but more explosive and is a "thick" fighter.I'm not going to get all carried away with "fighter A beat fighter B so fighter C ETC.In boxing 1+1 does not always =2.I just cant get passed seeing him exploding off of Williams Chin KTFO in 10 or sooner.
Re: Cintron vs Williams Official
Great News and great to see two fighters who could rule their own portion of the World title for many years if they didn't take a risky fight like this.
Kermit Cintron has the power to stop anyone but in the Margarito fight he came up short and was outclassed then knocked-out, though he is a better fighter now; I think Paul Williams is the more complete fighter.
I believe that Paul Williams will win this fight and also go onto Greater things.

PW performance that night was hardly poor..ok you make reference to him landing 23% of his punches as being poor but he threw over a 1000??? Don't you see his perfectly executed plan here? It was to throw so many punches (regardless wether they all landed or hurt him) and stay so busy that Margarito wouldn't even have a chance to bang..The plan obviously wasn't to hit him with big punches but just to use volume so that Tony couldn't get going and it worked like a charm. It was the oppositte of poor.

:coolclick: There was nothing poor about Paul Williams on that night & Margarito didn't lose the fight...he got beaten...if that makes sense. I don't give a frog's fat floppin ass if he underestimated or refused to respect Williams...Williams taught him respect that night...so now he knows.
William's jab & the fact that he wings in his combos directly off of the jab, the fact that he's so long & tall, the fact that he's hard to hit flush...all of that is going to cause fits for anyone.

Wack'o I'm in agreement on a clean loss and clean win for Williams but by no means was It so one sided that He had the affordability of "Teaching" Margarito Anything. He wasn't exactly left in a corner Licking his wounds.
Overwhelmed with volume and workrate yes and he has himself to blame(?) ...as well as Williams for being top notch and up for All 12 that night because Margarito surly was not.
Not losing and being beaten makes sense. Its not as if Losing is an option...Its the other man that "takes" the victory...If that makes sense???
And In a hopeful rematch it will be sweeter when Margarito Takes it back ;)

The only thing that Williams taught Marg was that he should have taken more interest in fighting back & that he should have respected him instead of writing him off.
I aint a Margarito fan...nor am I really a Williams fan...while I do like Williams...I just don't know that he's the total package...does that make any sense?
I am one of these humans that has always thought Margarito was not what he has been marketed as...the most feared fighter in the division.
For some reason...I think that if Williams can maintain minimal success...he will be feared.
Not sure why I think that...maybe it's the height, reach, & power...but he just seems so hard to figure.

Williams Is a work in progress Imo.And some will take that as a slight against both Margarito & Williams.Margarito also has that freakish frame.I dont think its his power in so much his angles of shots and tenacity.
He has to tune it up!
I dont think Margarito is so much feared as he is the result of too many evaluations of "Risk Vs.Reward" He has flaws but is also underestimated.
Williams can be A force but really has to maximize his size & reach. That bend over & long pull back cra@ will catch up to him. Wow........I'm F.U.B.A.R at the Moment ;D CC Wack'o 8)

:coolclick: returned.
Totally agree that he's a work in progress...but he's progressed so much, IWHO, in such a short time.
Agreed on the risk vs reward situation as far as Margarito is concerned also.
Re: Cintron vs Williams Official
Another great matchup in the welter division. Its getting better and better.

yeh reminds me of Calzaghe v Lacy.
Re: Cintron vs Williams Official
This should be a great matchup. Classic contrast of a high activity volume puncher (Williams) against an opponent with one-punch KO power (Cintron).
Looking forward to it.
Re: Cintron vs Williams Official
Amazing match up, I'm with the underdog, Kermit has looked sensational as of late, albeit against weakish competition.
Re: Cintron vs Williams Official
This is why i love the WW division!!! 8) 8)
I mean yeah, they got some brilliant fighters but the main thing is that they're all fighting each other. Fantastic stuff!! :D
This is a hard one for me to pick. I was so sure that Williams wouldnt have the wiskers to get by Tony.
I feel to say he wont be tough enough for Cintron but its just such an intriguing and complex match up.
Based purely on my flawed logic, i can only say Cintron by shock stoppage :o
**Edit** Cintron is HUGE!!!
Re: Cintron vs Williams Official
Nice fight, I'd like Kermit to win. He can't just go into a shell from Williams' volume though. I would think the most likely outcome is Williams on points but you never know.
Re: Cintron vs Williams Official
It will be another close one, but "the Punisher" will take him via UD. Cintron is looking strong, but I am not sold on his heart. I dont see Williams k.o. ing Cintron but he is gonna outbox him most likely.
