LMAO..... The boxing card was great. But this particular fight did nothing for me.Quote:

I can't believe it man. Steward said it best when he said that shit like this hurts boxing.
Somethings gotta be done, somethings gotta be changed. I'm sick of hearing "bad decisions are just a part of boxing". Fuck that. This kind of injustice leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
There are bad decisions, and then there are BAD, HORRIBLE decisions. I can list plenty of decisions that I disagree with, that I think are wrong. Bad decision are part of boxing, yes, but one's this one are beyond the normal scope of bad decisions...even Forrest/Quartey was closer that his and I was appauled at that decision. Sanctioning bodies need to do a better job of evaluating, training, and in some cases, punishing judges.Quote:

Its about time Casa had a bt of luck anyway . The knockdown in teh 1st was wrongly counted against him .It happend vs Freitas aswel . He belives he beat Chico the 2nd time and Castillo and he didnt get those decisions so its about time luck went his way . Shame for Cruz cuz once he went southpaw he had the answers . Bet he wishes he did that from the start .
Casa won at least 4 of the last 6 rounds. I gave him the 3rd as well and there were some uneventful rounds that could have gone either way. Casa keeps things negative and picks away wth little shots that a half-drunken fan waiting for the main event won't really notice but a judge has to recognize.
People who had it 10-2 or something ridiculous are the kind of fans who score fights in generality and don't really watch the action, which happens to be most fans.

Its been clear for a while he's slipping, the Pearson fight, he didn't even look that good in the last Chico fight.
I was a fan at one time, not a huge fan but I've rooted for him in a lot of his fights but that was horrible. Run and hold, run and hold.
WTF was Steve Smoger waiting for? Take a point, take two points, disqualify him for the excessive holding. I usually like Smoger but him congratulating Casa on breaking cleanly after one of his 800 clinches was ridiculous. The ridiculous thing is he didn't need to fight that way, Santa Cruz is not that good at all, Casa could have held his ground and beaten Santa Cruz with shorter, straighter punches. Although listening to Steward rationalize it was kind of funny.
I was pretty much certain before the fight that he couldn't beat Juan Diaz at this stage of his career, now I'm about as certain as you can possibly be about a "big" fight.
That's a somewhat accurate description of most of the first half of the fight, and since there was no dramatic turn around, people stopped really paying attention by the time Casamayor started to win rounds. Are there any ringside/AP scorings of the fight?Quote:

Casamayor is shot, although being inactive for so long didn't help. He was given a nice easy tuneup before fighting a Diaz and lost badly. No timing, no snap, no nothing. He looked old and finished. The players at lightweight will be queuing up to fight him now.
