I hope you're right. Doesn't matter how hard I try or how many good reasons people give for Hatton I can't see ANYWAY how he wins.
I just hope he isn't totally humiliated. If he goes the distance he'll of done well in my eyes.
Fair enough, indeedy :coolclick:
Ive been doing a revision course over the last few weeks in the whole Hatton: Mayweather biz and it really is quite an issue because of all the variables at play. I need to revise sometimes because I really do have an appaling memory. Hatton beat Collazo but was made to look like an amateur at times. But at the end its obvious that Hatton was sporting a mini James Toney belly as he leaned over the ropes to celebrate. Obviously much heavier than usual. He looked good against Castillo, but then Castillo was in Hattons 140 territory...but then again Castillo gave Mayweather a hellish first fight and a tricky as heck second fight. But weight groups below and much younger.
And then you've gotta consider Mayweather who looked to have a fight on his hands after 6 against an old Oscar and has picked and chosen his other opponents for half a decade.
Hattons chances are really not that hopeless. This is a fight that Hatton has been geared towards for the best part of 2 years. The Collazo and Urango fights are both fights that Hatton won, but he wasnt "up" for them in the same way as this one. This is the crunch and its not an option to come in without being tip top and ultra prepared. And the other variable is that this aint no southpaw he's dealing with.
There can be no excuse for anything less than the A game. Otherwise, he will lose. But other than the weird lip issue, which will have hopefully healed up, I can see nothing less than the Hitman at his finest.
I've been running it through my mind as well, and get a different outcome every time. I think we'll find out early how this fight is going to go. The closer the fight gets, the more I think Mayweather is going to take it, I read an article on another website which had a detailed compubox statistics on both fighters, I was surprised how low the output is for both guys, Hatton's average was less than 60 a round, which I expected to be a lot more, especially since its his workrate that most guys cite as his best attribute and best (only?) chance of winning the fight.
I just don't see Hatton hurting Floyd enough, Floyd will be in great physical condition and will avoid a lot of shots. Saying that, I hope we get a good fight and that Ricky will give a good account of himself.
Mayweather is less active than many. In many of his major fights he has gone the distance and thrown less than 500 punches.
I know, Floyd's average was even lower than Hatton, but that was to be expected since he picks his shots. The point I'm trying to make is the Hatton isn't the 100 punch a round monster some people make him out to be.

No, he isnt.
Hatton is no Calzaghe. Hatton needs to bring 70 punches a round and he can do it. Floyd cannot and wont throw that much.

Going with Mayweather on points

Re: Time for the vote : Hatton - Mayweather
It does'nt matter how many punches they throw per round it matters how many land. ;)
Re: Time for the vote : Hatton - Mayweather
my picks staying as it was at the start......PBF ud....i know its the safe bet but i struggle to see how Hatton can be accurate enough to outpoint him if it goes the distance which is pretty likely considering PBF's defence.

I agree it wont ;)
Mayweather TKO round 6-8 ;D
Re: Time for the vote : Hatton - Mayweather
And still............. Pretty boy knockout.
Re: Time for the vote : Hatton - Mayweather
Going against all that is obvious,Maywither faster/better all around athlete/and a much better tactical boxer.......
Hatton will be cut and pasted early but I am picking Hatton to walk through this fire and Take a Descision. I Feel It and believe it! There will be no excuses regardless of what happens. Viva Hatton
Re: Time for the vote : Hatton - Mayweather
Mayweather wins a close points UD or SD. Hatton does well enough to fight Oscar at Wembley next year.
I'm desperate for Hatton to win this fight and I'm going to be cheering for him tomorrow night. I hope I'm wrong and he stops Floyd, but Floyd is just too good a boxer.
Come on Ricky. :)
Re: Time for the vote : Hatton - Mayweather
Hatton : 145
Mayweather: 147
Re: Time for the vote : Hatton - Mayweather
For like the 10th time, Mayweather by lopsided points win or late stoppage.
Re: Time for the vote : Hatton - Mayweather
Mayweather UD, the talent gap is just not even close IMO!
Re: Time for the vote : Hatton - Mayweather
its simple:
Hatton will throw more
Hatton will land more
Mayweahter will land crisper punches at a higher %
Hatton will throw and land harder shots
Hatton 7-5, 8-4, 7-5

Ricks gotta make it ugly that’s for sure . I believe that Ricky has what it takes to get Mayweather out of his comfort zone if the ring is manageable, if so I feel that Rick will stretch Mayweather inside the distance .. if the ring is ridiculously large like usual then Mayweather has too many options available and will win by Decision. !
I am thinking its going to be a fast ring, or Mayweather would not have signed up.
