CC returned man, ah, can't be mad at a guy who's got an unrecognised legend as his username and avatar.

I'm also worried about the effect of the loss on Rick. Not only on his mentality but his body too. Will he drinhk his fill til he's consoled homself and eat more than is advisble over the Christmas? Or will he attempt to maintain some sort of condition and be in shape? Hard to know...
Interesting questions and ones we can only speculate on really. He seemed to have the right ideas following the Collazo fight in regards to his condition. There is no knowing how much this may have taken out of him though. He didnt just lose. He got taken out big time and it takes a special fighter to maintain it at the top after a crushing knockout and the loss of the 0. Barrera shows how it can be done. Michael Spinks shows how it isnt.
Its a matter of waiting and hoping it turns out right. Rick deserves a drink or 2 and some nice greasy food....but then its time to get back in the gym. Fingers crossed.
Are you really surprised you lost ?? your still at number 13 on the member's list, i have got more chance of winning the lottery than you making a correct prediction ;)
Ice, you are obsessed with the postings leaderboard!!! ::**
He's having a pop at me hitmandonny!! ::**
Anyways, :coolclick:'s to the both of you! ;)
Nah im not having a pop at you, your very helpful prediction wise. Because all i have to do is pick the opposite fighter to you and always win in fact i might make my first bet soon to win some nice bit of money, so remember pick the fighter Miles so i know to pick the opposite one.
:coolclick: ;D

For me it was the official baptism of a boxing legend or cannonisation of a boxing Saint.
He truaely was that good and I'm sure Sugar Ray at ringside was loosening his collar.
He showed better defense than Pernell at times and better offense than well...most boxers! I gained a lot of respect for the Pretty Boy.
Joe Cortez....Well personally I feel he was disgraceful. (Note: Hatton lost Hatton the fight not Cortez so don't take this wrong!) I felt he stopped Ricky fighting his fight by watching him like a hawk. In turn he was very leniant with Floyd, ignoring several elboews forearms and rabbit blows yet penalising Hatton for the same thing.
Questionable.
And as for Ricky.....Well you guys may have thought I'd abandon him.
Never!
Still my favourite fighter, I was absolutley gutted for him and the post fight interview nearly broke my heart! The guys a legend, I certainly hope he doesn't feel he must retire as to be honest he was the only fighter who ever made a Mayweather fight essential viewing. He kept me on the edge of my seat and he boxed well.
If possible, I admire him even more after defeat and as I said....Forever my favourite fighter.
I commend you for standing behind your guy while giving just props. It seems a great many you would never know had predicted the loser to win if you read what they say or DON'T say afterward. CC.

Hahahah ;D
You cheeky bugger!! You are quite right though. I have my fair share of bad picks and at least you offer me the escape route of being at 13 as being a valid excuse for getting it wrong! ;)
Im not one for excuses though really...Im always able to hold up my hands and say I got it wrong
Re: I Was Wrong....December 8th.
CC returned Liquid.
I've even been told "I told you so," by a couple of fans who were "right there with me" before the fight :(

Fingers crossed indeed. A factor which worries me is the proposed layoff.
I no that a fight at Light Welter means he needs time to drop the extra muscle mass he loaded on for the fight with Mayweather, but I feel that fighting again in June as he mentioned in the post fight interview is a bit much.
Having accepted the loss I felt that it would greatly benefit his financial career and legacy if he upped the activity and fought 3 times a year as opposed to twice as he has in recent years. However, for some reason this seem to be out of the question.
And Mr.Lopez was that a jibe at me or Miles?
There is no reason for Ricky not to fight 3 times a year. His career is short as a boxer, so I see no issues with being a pro and staying in shape and sucking it up. After all, there are all of those years to enjoy when its over and the money is banked.
You are right, he should fight 3 or even 4 times a year (even though no top boxers do that anymore) and finish his career with intent..

I agree,
The weight would also be a lot easier to make if he stayed more active and training would be nowhere near as difficult. The mere fact that he takes so much time off (without even considering diet and alcohol) makes training more difficult and the weight more of a struggle!
3 fights a year for lets say three years. Assuming they're all wins and contain names like Witter Malignaggi Torres Rees and perhaps Diaz....That would be legend making stuff!

That would be an exceptional way to see out his career.
I agree about training completely. It shouldnt be about trying to make the weight. That should be a given. Its about training in terms of getting ready for the opponents style. Too often for the fighters at lower weights its about losing the pounds at the cost of a fully prepared fight strategy.
If Ricky is aware of his health and condition as a permanent factor in his career then the choice of opponent can then be the complete focus of all preparation needs.
Re: I Was Wrong....December 8th.
I wholeheartedly concur.
I feel that fighting Torres would be a great fight for Hatton but it's not mentioned much.
