Re: Cortez did it for his Country and his Job
if it was crooked in any way it was a result of the bets placed on hatton, the shadyness out of nevada tends to be aimed at the fighter whose win will lose more money for the casinos

mayweather won, but i still have a nagging feeling in the back of my head of what and if...
when floyd went into the ropes he should have got a count. As only the ropes kept him up there for it should have been ruled a knock down. Just like holyfield v cooper.
Re: Cortez did it for his Country and his Job
I agree, and then Rick would have only lost by 10th round KO rather than.....urrmmm...

What IF Hatton had better defense? What IF Floyd wasn't so fast? What IF Hatton did not get caught with the hook?
What IF Hatton did not foolishly persue a fight with Floyd
You call making a reported $40million for ONE fight foolish?

This bout was SKY TV'S biggest grossing fight taking £60 million that $120 million dollars (the previous best fror SKY was Lewis Tyson which took £48 million). then theres what HBO took. Hatton getting $40 million is not unrealistic. The fight was shown in approximately 120 countries worldwide.

Its true VD..he is looking at around 40 million dollars because his father, Ray made sure they would keep the UK TV earnings..or something of that nature was part of their deal.

Don't make me laugh Hatton hit Mayweather on the back of the head x2 and Mayweather fell forward onto the ropes how in the hell should that have been counted as a knockdown ?? it was nothing like Cooper vs Holyfield, first off Cooper got Holyfield in big trouble with a hard right hand that badly shook Holyfield then Cooper was pounding Holyfield on the ropes Holyfield tried to get away and Cooper hit Holyfield on the side of the temple if i remember right, Holyfield held onto the ropes to stop himself from going down, its nothing like Mayweather vs Hatton so stop being so damn biased.

He did it for Puerto Rico?
he did it for the little american flag stitched on his shoulder and he did it for the sake of his house not burning down

even the commentators were saying that cortez wasnt letting hatton do his thing.
yes these are excuses for hatton but VERY LEGIT excuses.
Not really,Floyd was killing Hatton on the inside with those uppercuts,he let Ricky fight Ricky's fight, and he still was better at it
Enough with whining about Cortez

Yet another British boxing fan who doesnt understand Americans attitude towards boxing
Face it,if you put a prime Tyson and a prime Klitschko in the ring together,75% of American boxing fans would be rooting for Klitschko
Hatton had more fans at the fight then Mayweather did by far

HATTON never actually hit him on the head when he turned away and if a boxer turns away then he's quitting and the ref should stop the fight.

:lolhaha: your argument is foolish and that just proved it.
Re: Cortez did it for his Country and his Job
i agree he did a shit job early on. i still believe though it didn't matter who the ref was.... mayweather would win no matter who
Re: Cortez did it for his Country and his Job
For me watching the replay again on Saturday.I did notice Cortez an awful lot that he was already moving in before they even clinched if that makes sense. It did seem Cortez let Mayweather do pretty much what he wanted to do with his left forearm, elbow and shoulder.I would be interested if this fight took place in England.
