It's all relative, Pavlik beat Jermain Taylor who has beaten other pound for pounds. hopkins, spinks.
Come to think of it Calzaghe hasn't beaten any ranked pound for pound fighters. Have to say i don't really agree with Hopkins still being there but well that's a majority thing.

2 Bernard Hopkins light heavyweight
3 Israel Vazquez super bantamweight
4 Kelly Pavlik middleweight
5 Joe Calzaghe super middleweight
6 Manny Pacquiao super featherweight
7 Cristian Mijares super flyweight
8 Juan Manuel Marquez super featherweight
9 Ronald Wright middleweight
10 Juan Diaz lightweight
11 Ricky Hatton light welterweight
12 Rafael Marquez super bantamweight
13 Miguel Angel Cotto welterweight
14 Alexander Munoz super flyweight
15 Celestino Caballero super bantamweight
16 Chris John featherweight
17 Arthur Abraham middleweight
18 Wladimir Klitschko heavyweight
19 Jermain Taylor middleweight
20 Cory Spinks light middleweight
21 David Haye cruiserweight
22 Junior Witter light welterweight
23 Nonito Donaire flyweight
24 Daniel Ponce de Leon super bantamweight
25 Clinton Woods light heavyweight
Thats perfect example of the the small weights not getting enough credit.
Well he's overlooked Calderon Ice but the rest of his list is full of little guys. Christian Mijares at 7! For what beating Jorge Arce? Pavlik above Calzaghe, Munoz at 14? Sorry Wasp but this list is completely wack. :P
How could you not have Ivan Calderon up there anywhere?
Same reason as Calzaghe wasn't respected as a pound for pound. It would be disrespectful to add him. LOL
You're right though good fighter.

A fight against Witter who is in the pound for pound top 25. Giving him a WBC.
I don't see why Hatton couldn't unify the division.
He is certainly a chance to be a top 5 all time great 140pounder, I have him behind in no order Pryor, Tszyu, Chavez, Loche and Cervantes. If he goes back to 140 and beats Witter and Paulie then he goes top 5 for sure. Hatton's big test will be coming back from defeat, a lot of all time greats have done it. Duran, Hearns, Leonard, Tszyu etc all had defeats and came back better than ever! Hatton should do the same.
I hope he will as well. he said that his boxing idols lost fights so coming back shouldn't be to hard.
I just hope he unfiys the division.
He has already had IBF,IBO,WBC,WBA light welterweight weight titles. I hope he gets them all back and the WBO.
:)
Re: HATTON, King of the 140 pounders.
He has never won a WBC world title, funny isn't it.
Re: HATTON, King of the 140 pounders.
To be honest yeah. By the sound of it on here he won't be fighting witter for it either.
F knows why i wrote that. I got muddled it was the WBC International light welterweight title that he won.
By no means a bad title though Manny Pacquiaos favourite by the looks of it.
Re: HATTON, King of the 140 pounders.
Oh I wasn't correcting you, I knew you me4ant the International...
But I just find it weird that the WBC and him have never crossed paths yet oin the 24/7 series he was seen to be wearing a WBC shirt on numerous occasions.
Re: HATTON, King of the 140 pounders.
I don't understand that either. A lot say the WBC is the big one to win.
But personaly i like the WBA.
I don't really understand this part of boxing. Why don't the title holders fight each other instead they defend against what can be a very thin amount of proper opposition.

Well when they get to that point they stand to make an awful lot of money by making defences. By facing off against each other they risk losing the belt and perhaps their elite status. No belt no money. Pros are dictated by money :(
I always used to think the WBC was the big one as i remeber Ali had the belt. But time has taught me that it's organisation is just as corrupt and wrong as them all. I quite like the IBF's policies now.
Re: HATTON, King of the 140 pounders.
He needs to fight Witter ;)

Not right away, he needs a shot of confidence first. Demetrius Hopkins orJuan Lazcano would be good.
