Bit too early to jump the gun on a Campbell-Diaz fight, nothing's been signed, with all that's going on between King and Diaz's manager, I'm afraid Juan could be sitting out for a while.
I do agree Campbell's a better opponent, I'd pick Nate to beat Kats.

I dunno. I like Campbell a lot, and he's a better boxer than Katsidis. But his track record against pressure fighters and Aussies is not too good.

Well Aussies maybe although I didn't see the second Peden fight but he lost the first one just cause he's a dumbass. He lost to Lorenzo but it was pretty obvious he was half dead from making the weight. Diamond was a hyped up pressure fighter and we saw what happened there. Maybe Katsidis is better than Kid Diamond, but I'm not sure he's leagues apart from the guy. Everybody likes Katsidis' style, but has he really done that much to get to the position he's in? Earl, Amonsot, to put it very very extraordinarily lightly some guys have had to work a whole lot harder to get a title shot than Katsidis has.

Glad to see you remember the Lorenzo fight. I like Francisco Lorenzo, no power, but he throws TONS of punches and has loads of heart. That last African fighter who beat Campbell was a pressure fighter too.
And yeah Nate did lay a beatdown on fukin Kid Diamond, and it is true that Katsidis fights similar to Diamond. Poor defense, comes straight in, and cuts easy.

I don't know if Hlatshwayo, or whatever the fuck his name is, is a true pressure fighter but he does throw a lot of punches. Nate was actually doing well when he was standing in there, going to the body.
Re: <--- Katsidis vs. Casamayor set for March 22 on HBO --- >
Isaac is a pressure fighter but someone with skills can outbox him as Holt showed when they fought on ESPN.
Holt was able to just step to the side and jab Isaac away. Isaac needed to rest every time thus buying Holt time to throw some more.

Plus Holt is naturally a good deal bigger than Issac too. And has been known to do the "Ass Dance" from time to time. Remember that one? When the fans were booin and stuff after one of his fights and he bends over and shakes his ass back and forth like an idiot. Lou Duva was embarassed big time, I'm surprised he didn't stop training him right there on the spot. ;D
Joel Casamayor vs Michael Katsidis (WBC lightweight championship) 3/22/08
Any Opinions on this one? After the way Casamayor looked in his last fight, I can't see this going his way.
Joel Casamayor vs. Michael Katsidis.
http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php...6922&cat=boxer
The above link is Casamayor's record on boxrec. It schedules a unification fight ahead vs. Michael Katsidis.
After Casamyors poor showing in his last fight, (in which I felt he looked old and weary,) does anyone else see the energetic and fresh (if technically defficient) Katsidis, being the completely wrong choice.
Re: Joel Casamayor vs. Michael Katsidis.
I know Joel is a bit long in the tooth , but Katsidis ???? i really dont see it , hes so easy to hit , and wouldnt be WORLD CHAMP if it wasnt for the WBO JOKE .
I think Jeol has enough to stop him late. TKO9
Re: Joel Casamayor vs. Michael Katsidis.
Well to be honest Al, i can understand your point of view. Katsidis is a glutton for punishment, but in seriousness, I can see him beat Casamayor after viewing his last performance. Cas looked tired dull and beatable to me.
Re: Joel Casamayor vs. Michael Katsidis.
we will have to wait and see :)
Re: Joel Casamayor vs. Michael Katsidis.
Katsidis is going to unify. Hell yeah. I am sure he was really bummed out about the Juan Diaz fight falling through but this is probably for the better as this is def. a winnable fight for him! (as opposed to the Juan diaz show).
Re: Joel Casamayor vs. Michael Katsidis.
I think casa got that rusty fight out of his system and got lucky to be given the win but will be more like his old self and beat katsidis.
Re: <--- Katsidis vs. Casamayor set for March 22 on HBO --- >
Katsidis has limited technical ability and cuts easily but will have too much for Casamayor at this point in his career. He's too old now, been inactive too long. He won't be able to improve dramatically on his last outing which he effectively lost badly.
