Re: Manny Pacquiao draws up 2008 wishlist which includes a bout with Hatton...
Whilst I agree on the money issue and indeee the excuse I disagree on the other two points.
I feel it is inevitable that Hatton will triumph and if that win is in a brutal fashion then It may cost Manny in terms of his memory.

I don't honestly think there would be that much difference in size come fight night tbh. That has to be the main contributing factor supporting a brutal Hatton victory.
So that's why i think it would be a good fight.....especially good to watch.
From Ricky's point of view it is definately worth looking at.....considering that Witter is the only viable 'worthwhile' fight at 140 at the moment. Paulie showed on Saturday that he isn't ready for Hatton.
So other than the alphabet boys there aint anything at 140 for him.....until Juan Diaz and Pacman step up....if they do.

I wouldn't it would be a joke, like i said in the other thread. Pacquiao started off as a Flyweight thats 7 weight classes below Jr Welterweight. Hatton would be much too strong for Pacquiao and would bully him all around the ring. Why doesn't Pacquiao fight fighters like Guzman, Valero, J.Diaz etc. Pacquiao moving up to fight Hatton at Jr Welterweight is a ridiculous choice.
pac might have started off at flyweight but you seem to be forgetting that he turned pro at 17 years old. he was still a growing boy. he's gained mass over the years and is fighting naturally heavier as he gets older.
He was at Flyweight until he was about 21 years old.

I agree with you hitman ....... guess it's a little premature to be talking of such a difficult path.

Obviously, he has to get past Marquez first, but I think Marquez is on the decline -- his defense has definitely dropped off significantly since the first Pac fight. I think Juan Diaz is the toughest fight out there for Pac (that's right, tougher than Hatton), followed by Guzman.
How would Manny beat Ricky?
I'm not saying it's a sure thing, but I wouldn't be terribly surprised to see Pac win by KO. Even if the power doesn't carry to 140 though, he's *much* faster than Hatton, and (though it's not particularly good), his defense is better. We all know Hatton's defense is severely flawed. But honestly, I can't think of another fight I'd rather see Hatton in -- except maybe Juan Diaz. Like Ono says, the only reason to pick a Hatton blowout is that you think he'd have a big size advantage. But he wouldn't.

the reason he's jumped several weight classes a couple of times cos he's been struggling to make weight.
