Whether you like Oscar or not, he deserves everyone's respect for his quality of opposition. He could've used his popularity two ways, he could've used it to avoid all the tough guys (because he could still make big $$$ even against bad opponents) or he could've used it to lure all the biggest and best names to fight him. He chose the latter.
I've never been an Oscar fan, the running in the Tito fight was horrible, and I think he got some gift decisions (especially early in his career), but I'll always respect him.
I respect Oscar's boxing skills. I mean, he has enough skill not to get KO'd brutally. But I always feel cheated when Oscar fights. I mean, despite the impressive resume, he probably holds the distinction of having the most lackluster performances despite the quality of opposition.
I disagree what was wrong with his performances against.
Julio Cesar Chavez x2,
Ike Quartey
Fernando Vargas
Jeff Mayweather
Rafael Ruelas
Jorge Paez
Jesse James Leija
Oba Carr
Hector Camacho
Shane Mosley x2
Arturo Gatti
Ricardo Mayorga
Genaro Hernandez
Oscar did have a few off performances, but so does every boxer. But the boxers i just mentioned were all good quality opponents and Oscar performed well in pretty much all of those fights.

I would still include the Trinidad fight because he put on a clinic against Tito for the first 9 rounds.

Not sure if you should include Jeff Mayweather in Oscars quality opponents. Fairly good, but not really noteworthy IMO. I also think Oscar's card is top 3 or 4 . You can make an argument for Sugar Ray Robinson, Leonard, Oscar, Duran and maybe Ali for the top spot. I'd go with this:
1. Robinson
2. Oscar
3. Leonard

How do some people not consider the people SRL fought as good as Oscar or just right there with him.

When you add Roy Jones in there next week I'd say Tito is up there in top notch opposition with anybody. As long as we are not counting what period of their prime they fought eachother.
I just wish he had faced Quartey and Mosley as well. But maybe I'm asking too much of the man.

That wasn't a clinic; that was a pitty-pat fest where Oscar would win the last ten seconds of many of those rounds. The strategy was: Don't get KO'd.
