Well, I'm not sure how you can blame De La Hoya for this as if he's ducking someone. I mean, Floyd is still p4p #1 and beat him the first go round, to say nothing of the fact that it would still likely be his biggest money fight. If you want to blame Floyd for covering old ground, fair enough, but this would be just another example of Oscar taking the toughest challenge out there. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to see them fight again, but it would be hard to blame Oscar for this.

for me oscar is a promoter more than a fighter these days and call my a sinic but when he was rocking floyds head back with the jab early in there last fight the promoter in him thought rematch and he never throw it again....
make no mistake he will make sure he wins this one 100%... to cash in on the rubber match. ::**
its all about the $$$$$$$$$ and we will all pay to see it regardless of the claims we wont ;)

There is a reason they both lusted after Hatton, he was much smaller without big power which = much less risk to them, but also insanely popular and would get a lot of British PPV buys. No offense to Hatton. I am glad he at least got a piece of the financial pie and he can go back down to 140 and still be a force in that division

I really really hope this fight,if it comes off,does really crappy numbers(by their standards).We have JMM v Manny,Isreal v Rafa 3,and a WHOLE HOST of other top top fights to look forward,don't waste your $$$ on a part time promoter v a guy who wanted a hiatus when he was supposed to fight Cotto but is coming back for Oscar.

I'd like to add that we can see Oscar's intentions clearly here. He still wanted to consider Hatton as a legitimate opponent,even after he was KTFO and obviously too small for 147 let alone 154. Cotto should have been the next challenger,based on the fact Oscar wanted a toe to toe war(or so he said) Gee,I wonder what happened. Wasn't this the same Oscar who said that he saw alot of flaws which SSSm could not take advantage but he could? Moron.

DelaHoya needs to step aside and decide what it is exactly he wants to do...Fight or Promote.He's acting like a damn Diva!Its a money grab.
Floyd needs to get in there as he is capable of in a stacked and talent rich division with the top tier welts,Margarito,Williams,Cotto,Clottey,Cintron,etc . and stop looking behind him.

Your full of shit... how is Oscar scared of anyone? Just going up to 160 to face Hopkins ,and risking getting humiliated by Floyd which he wasn't, but still Oscar has more balls than anyone in the last 15 years. To say that Oscar wouldn't go anywhere near Quintana is crap, or Paul Williams or Margarito. Paul is the only one who has a chance in beating Oscar, and IMO if Oscar can get down to 147 with relative ease the only person there who beats him is Mayweather. Cotto is really good, but I see Oscar getting the better of him, Mosley, Oscar would beat again just like the second time they fought.

floyd is p4p number 1, why don't he clean out his division. if theres justice in boxing, floyd should be labled as p4p greedy motherfxxxxxx and be strip off the top ten p4p. i will actually pick him over everyone at welterweight but he is only cashing in to fight either smaller hatton or bigger oscar.

My random thoughts on this:
-If Oscar and Floyd fight again, Floyd will be further and further away from anyone recognizing him as one of the best fighters in the history of boxing.
-Oscar is bad for boxing when he fights. What gives him the right to keep picking his fights? Who has he beaten lately? He has too much control because he's a promoter.
-While every boxer is fighting the best of the best, Floyd is lagging behind.
-Even if they aren't, it definitely seems like Oscar and Floyd are afraid to fight Cotto.
I'm a Floyd fan and I'm starting to think he won't fight anyone dangerous anymore. If he's looking to leave a great legacy behind, fighting Hatton and De La Hoya and saying they were his two greatest victories are not the way to do that...

If Oscar ever had a chance of beating Floyd it was last time they met . Now I cant see him doing much better but you never know he just may get the decision this time.
I rather see the rematch between Oscar and Floyd than a one-sided victory against Cotto. Remember that Oscar vs Floyd was a SPLIT desicion that could have gone either way. When people say that Oscar got completely humiliated and destroyed I think people watched a totally different fight. Oscar was far from that. Maybe we didn't see them in the middle of the ring exchanging punches but both were smart and cautious. Maybe that is what people didn't like.
