Yeah I picked Kessler. But Kessler is Euro fighter. I had a feeling he would disappoint me. And he did.

As long as VD is picking aginst the Brit jolly you have nothing to worry about.
If he ever turned, I'd lump my house on the upset.

I could of swore Hatton, Nicky Cook and Dunne were all Brit fighters I picked to get smashed and did

Hatton and Cook weren't jollys to win their fights (that means favourite). Dunne is Irish.

Actually Cook was the favorite to win. Just like Calzaghe was favored to beat Kessler. And Calzaghe is the favorite to beat Hopkins (he won't) and would be if he fights Jones

I picked Floyd to beat hatton. I'm a boxing genius 8)

Cook-Luevano was virtually evens with the bookies. And a genuine 50-50 fight.
Thats right you keep picking against Calzaghe.. it would be worrying (for his sake) if you didn't.

You seem to hate on British fighters, get over it
You know I would love to see any fighter in the world go against an American champion and win not because Im anti American (got some good friends from there.)
America has such a big pool of people to choose from compared with the rest of us its like a half of the worlds population all in one area.
With a massive mixed race genetic pool good education and food they produce more champions in more areas.
In fighting I end up secretly going for the underdogs in anything, even if my man from my own country starts to whip ass I start looking at how the opposition can muster himself and start thinking for him instead;
Cause I'd rather see a great fight than a one sided one anyday.
I suspect you are all the same deep down cause most of you who post are all real fight fans here so you place that above a country.
At the end of the day I hope Australia whips all your asses at everything , I think if its taken on all sports and percentage per head per capita we probably have it ;)
I still recon Hopkins wins over Calzage and Roy too if he continues getting fitter and aims and trains for the job for long while.

I also don't think Calzaghe will just be able to simply outwork Jones and win UD like most people expect. Jones is very smart fighter and he won't allow Calzaghe to get off that many punches, Jones can stop Calzaghe's work rate with his blinding hand speed and he can make Calzaghe more cautious by landing those fast crisp punches. On the downside for Jones he hasn't KO anyone in a long time but IMO he still has good power.
Whats your thoughts ??
Jones looked shot against Tito. He was doing that herky jerky thing that shot fighters do when they're trying to move fluidly like they used to but the body isn't responding the way it used to. Very suspect stamina now too. Tito actually looked a lot closer to his old self than Jones did. If Jones does fight Calzaghe next it'll be very one-sided.
Re: Roy Jones Jr vs Joe Calzaghe How Competitive Would It Be ??
True Tito and Roy were great fighters and they both made themselves look better the other day because none of them are in peak condition.
But that could change if they want it enough.

Personally I think that it would be a much more competitive fight than most people think.
That being said...I have'nt seen the Trinidad fight...but comparing Tito & Calzaghe would be almost as sinful as comparing Roy to Lacy, Bika, Manfredo, & YES even Kessler.
Based on what I've seen of Jones in his last two fights...I'd say that his confidence is getting back on track & the win over Trinidad (as dominant as it sounded) will be enough to push him into some memorable confrontations with Calzaghe. The thing is...Joe's fast as a gaggle of rabbits fuckin on Friday & once you connect against Joe it pushes him to return the favor & usually in duplicates of what you dished out. Joe's intimidating as all get out & I say that he's got enough ego & showmanship to bring out the best in Jones...& visa versa.
I actually believe that Jones Calzaghe would be a much much better fight than Hopkins Calzaghe...I'd bank on it.
As for a winner?
I really need to see him against Tito...just to see how he took the punches & also see how well his speed will factor in.
The thing is...everybody knows that I never bet against Joe.
Re: Roy Jones Jr vs Joe Calzaghe How Competitive Would It Be ??
It depends on which Calzaghe shows up and which Jones shows up. Joe usually looks good against guys who are aggressive. Hes rarely been in with a guy like Roy who can counter and use his range well. if Roy lays on the ropes and covers up like hes he will have his hands full, but if he can control the center of the ring he will give Joe problems. Also, who knows Joe may get old overnight himself. I think its a real interesting matchup.

:coolclick: Very good points me good man.
Agreed on all fronts...but I, for some reason, think that Joe would adapt to what Roy has to offer.
