Taylor
Tarver

Is this the best quality of opponent for 5 fights in a row that a recent fighter has faced?
Taylor himself went
Hopkins
Hopkins
Wright
Spinks
Pavlik
Or Rapha Marquez
Mabuza x 2
Vasquez x 3
Anyone else i've missed who has had 5 in a row tougher?
Michael Moorer
Shelby Gross
Roderick Willis
Rich Boruff
Sedrick Fields
Cliff Couser
;D;D
Re: 5 hard fights in a row.
Counting his upcoming fight Sam peter will have:
Toney x2
McCline
Maskeav
Vitalli
Carlos Quintana has one gimmie but a pretty solid run:
Julio
Cotto
Chris Henry
Williams x2
Not as good as the ones named but...okay.
Re: 5 hard fights in a row.
Antonio Margarito's last few opponents have been top quality except for Golden Johnson.
Joshua Clottey
Paul Williams
Golden Johnson
Kermit Cintron
Miguel Cotto
Or how about Juan Manuel Marquez
Jimrex Jaca
MAB
Rocky Juarez
Manny Pacquiao
Joel Casamayor
To be honest i think Marquez takes this one that is a pretty impressive list of fighters, and especially since all of those fights were tough except for maybe the Juarez fight, but the fight still went 12 rounds and although he outboxed Juarez. He had to work hard in some parts of the fight.
Re: 5 hard fights in a row.
Filipino Roger Monserto (0-6)
Medgen Sinsurat 55-5
Chatchai Sasakul 60-3
Ratnchaie Sor Vorapin 69-9
Medgoen Singsurat 45-4

He fought Sod Looknongyangtoy, 36-2, in his last fight.

Trinidad........(far from hard I know). Throw in 2 back to backs with Mosley before those 5.
Quartey wasn't hard. Hell, he might have been able to KO him had he pushed a little harder.
Re: 5 hard fights in a row.
kendall holt has been some tough ones
ricardo torres
ben tackie
ricardo torres

Quartey being such an easy fight I think is testament to how good Winky was.
Quartey was always underrated, and was robbed in the recent past of the Forrest fight......he still has a top notch jab and is a solid opponent.

Agreed but still Ike Quartey was too small for Winky Wright, just like Ike Quartey was too small for Fernando Vargas at Jr Middleweight. Ike Quartey could impose his power much better at Welterweight.

Re: 5 hard fights in a row.
I agree with you. Ike was too small for Winky. But it was a good win nonetheless.

Blimey, that is ridiculous. How can such mismatches get sanctioned?
Unless that is a very incomplete boxrec record?
