I won't say I've never been annoyed by somebody's comments on some of my favorite fighters (when a guy is accused of ducking somebody when I didn't think there was a good case for it) but overall I don't think it bothers me that bad. I'm not gonna lose any sleep if somebody (PAC fans I'm looking at you) calls Joan Guzman boring.
Just seems like some get so worked up about it and I'm not sure why?
BTW I've said some really hateful things about Paulie Malignaggi in the last twenty four hours, I apologize in advance to those that are offended ;D
I would think it would be hard for you to get mad at people if they hated on Kassim Ouma. I mean, it is Kassim Ouma after all
Re: Does it bother you...
Doesn't really bother me if people hate on a guy I like. Hell, I get tough on fighters I like as much as fighters I don't like. Well, maybe not as tough as I get on Kermit Cintron; a guy I despise with a passion.
I have alot of respect for guys who risk their health in that ring, so I try not to be too judgemental, though guys like Cintron who are quitters make me sick. And queers like Malinaggi that act more like their in a fashion show than a fight make my blood boil.
I guess though it takes all kinds, so I just try to enjoy the fights. After all, these guys are risking their health, so I try not to be too harsh on them, as long as they give it their all.
My daily non-sensical rant.

Many moons ago when I was new here yes.
Now I've learned to ignore the ignorant fools that post nonsense. I've also learned to see the good posts that make sense and valid points against some of my fav. fighters.
Re: Does it bother you...
Not at all, well at least not anymore but it used to. My favorite fighters PAC, PAV and COTTO have already proven themselves time and time again.

Fighters like Winky, Barrera, Mijares (especially fucking Mijares) and Fatton just bore me to tears. But I'm sure if Mijares got convicted for animal cruelty or wife battering and everyone started hating on him, he'd get one new fan at least ;)
I don't get how anyone could be bored to tears by Barrera that just makes no sense to me.
Barrera bored many spectators when he fought Pac for the 2nd time.
Pac was equally accountable for that boring fight . He was the younger fighter so why didnt he fight at pace or make Barrera engage
Barrera was old and it was his last fight. He just wanted to cruise through 12 rounds to prove that the 1st fight was a fluke. What Pacs excuse ?

Obviosly PAC was comfortable in outboxing MAB instead of slugging it out and in turn might get himself caught and kayoed by a an OLD MAB. What's wrong with that performance anyways? As far as I can remember JMM struggled vs MAB when they fought, PAC on the otherhand won by a LANDSLIDE:)

My favorite 2 fighters are Winky Wright and Jeff Lacy. Obviously I can't get to annoyed when people say all the things they say about them otherwise I would spend all my time yelling over the internet at people from all ends of the spectrum who hate on Lacy in particular.
I just get bothered by stupidity, that's my main thing and thankfully there isn't an abundance of it on here. Doesn't really matter if they are my favorite fighter or a fighter I really like (like Guzman), reading stupid posts bother me whether they are about Lacy or even Calzaghe. I'm not a huge Mayweather fan, especially outside of the ring but the irrational type of hate that Danny G has where someone is so consumed by hate that a fighter can literally do nothing right. That bothers me more then anything.
A lot of people think he's boring, a runner, etc.
They should spend more time watching Zahir Raheem.

It was boring. Isnt Pac supposed to be an exciting fighter ? He was fighting a washed up Mexican coming off a loss . He should have atleast tried to make it a spectacle.

I just wanna say to everyone as well I'm a massive Hatton fan though I love boxing in general. I especially love British domestic fights involving Carl Johansson, Esham Pickering etc on Sky and do RBR's for them from time to time. I woke up at 3AM to watch Pavlik-Taylor 2, if I was just a Hatton fan why would I bother getting my ass up at 3AM ?? JT Rock stated "Lefty is a Hatton fan not a boxing fan". Thats bullshit. Thats like saying Danny G is only a Cotto fan or ds91 just a Hopkins fan just because we have our favourites. Why don't I have an account on the Hatton forum ?? I'm also a massive David Haye fan. I'm even a big Amir Khan fan (Though his opposition sometimes irritates me) and I'm a Michael Katsidis fan. Ask ICB me and him had a big debate over who has the better record, Khan or Froch. That comment from JT wound me up but I'm over it now. I know I dislike Mayweather but I admire his skill and respect his game, I've said that a couple of times before.
Hey man, I didnt say anything different than what people were already implying... You can be wound up all you want bro, but the proof is in the pudding and is the general consensus of your peers;)
The thread isint hidden anyone can read it and draw there own conclusion, but I think most will see the consistency in the theme and CONSTRUCTIVE crticism toward you

It takes two to tango. MAB doesnt square his shoulders or stands in front of PAC to trade. What do you want? that PAC rushes in throwing no caution to the wind? and gets countered big time.

Pac tried make it a spectacle night by knocking MAB out. But that didn't really fully happen cuz MAB took a break by sucker punching Pac.
Pac was gonna dispose MAB in that round.

EXACTLY!!! MAB was hurt and could be dropped bigtime that round but MAB resorted to a cheap shot instead.
Re: Does it bother you...
It does bother me when people talk poorly of my favorite fighter especially when they call him chinny. But I just gotta remember they probably haven't ever seen him fight. Plus i don't get much support because I am the only one here that has him as a favorite.
For those of you that don't know my favorite fighter is Jhonny Gonzalez.
I think the easiest people to upset are the Hatton fans, there are a lot of them and they are not all like this.
And to see where I stand on this for the most debated fights.
Hatton vs. Tszyu - Good win for Hatton, feel he got some help from the ref, but he did exactly what he needed to do and overtook the best 140 lber in the game.
Hatton vs. Castillo - Castillo was washed up, you can't deny this he looked horrible against Ngoudjo and got gifted a decision.
Hatton vs. Collazo - Had even rounds 6-6 Hatton wons cause of the knockdown in round one. Even match IMO told me that Hatton should have stayed at 140 (I understand the prefight politics led to him fighting at 147). If Collazo would have gone offensive more, I think he could have at least knocked Hatton down.
Hatton vs. Mayweather - Hatton gave a good account of himself, had the ref working against his style in the first round, but he did what he could and I respect that.
Hatton vs. Lazcano - This fight was almost all Hatton, Lazcano caught him good a few times, but Hatton recovered quickly, it did show however a little slowing in Hatton's handspeed and put a big red 'X' where Hatton is vulnerable to the left hook. Still a good win for his fans.
Calzaghe vs. Lacy - Lacy was overhyped, America was desperate for a hero at 168 and so he was put in that position. If Lacy had a chance to get a few more fights under his belt particularly against someone with handspeed he may have learned more, but he was outclassed before the first bell rang.
Calzaghe vs. Kessler - This is where Joe got my respect he fought the guy rated right behind him, a solid fundamentals boxer, that had enough power to actually hurt Calzaghe and enough skill to put that into motion. Calzaghe really impressed that night, adapting to Kess pushing him out of his comfort zone and dominating the championship rounds.
Calzaghe vs. Hopkins - Hopkins lost this fight more than Joe won IMO not trying to take anything away from Calzaghe he did exactly what he needed to do press the action and keep those flurries flying. Hopkins has to realize he can't win with that output, no judge in their right mind is going to say he's luring him and one of these times he'll hit him, i'll give him that round. Good fight and good name to go on Joe's resume.
