Re: Amir Kahan the long road to nowhere
I'm going against the grain and think khan is not as great as his fans think but much better than his haters say he is. I still don't have a solid opinion of this guy yet but at this stage in his career he's doing a pretty decent job so far. Nothing wrong with gradual progression, sure he has flaws and makes some mistakes but this is the time for all that, and to work out kinks and learn, he's managed to win which is most important, a fighter doesn't have to decapatate every opponet to be on a good track, he's a young prospect, not sure why so much is expected of him already. He's been hyped but not really overhyped....i think he'll be just fine. Does he look like the next great pfp best..no, but will he get a belt, i say probably.

Khan is the most skilled prospect in world boxing, he just dont have a chin.
If that kid had a chin he would be one of the best of his era that kid has SKILLSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS SSSSS
judging by that i think its actually you that needs to put the pipe down !
You disagree Khan has the best skills out of any world talent.
Please brainiac let us know who has more natural skill than Khan!
Dont say Gamboa he clearly has less skill and at 27yo he is not upncoming.
yes i do dissagree, any world talent?? you have to be joking , ye he has decent handspeed but nothing spectacular at 135, his defence is leaky to put it mildly, his chin also is not up to standard
and you can have skilllssssssss as you put it but with a chin like that he wont win a world title unless its a WBO Frank Warren paper belt,
an of course gamboa can be up and coming regardless of age as his only had 10 fights and is improving his level of opposistion all the time, something that khan is failing to do

Khan technically is still a much safer bet to be a world champion than gamboa.
The guy spends 12rounds with his hands at his waist and is just asking for a decent solid puncher to hit him good.
Im not exactly the biggest khan fan but some of the bullshit posted on here does amuse me at times.
The guy is technically a very good fighter and i would be stunned if by the this time next year he isnt a world champ as long as warren can keep his promise and get him a shot.

isnt that exactlly what khan was doing at around the 10 fight mark, except he has been shown up for it whereas gamboa hasnt, not to say he will be in the future,
unless he runs to 140 and takes on a weak champion such as kotelnik, he wont be a champion for quite a while imo , 135 has too much talent ahead of him you have campbell, guzman, pac, JMM, Casa, Katsidis, Juan Diaz, Romanov

Didnt gamboa get knocked down in his last fight??
To be honest mate i wouldnt expect to see any of them in with khan.
Warren will probably get out of his promise to make khan a world champ by the end of 2008 by getting him a flagship belt that has no real standing in any division.
Unluckily for amir he is in just about the most competitive division in boxing though of those names you have mentioned i would suspect khan would be able to beat katsidis and romanov!!
Re: Amir Kahan the long road to nowhere
Khan is Athletic, Technicaly not very good thats the truth.

exactlly so who is he going to win his title from ?????
katsidis is relentless and has alot of power and i think would give khan more than he could handle, romanov is a class act but i think i would also give khan a chance in that one

i'm sure it's underrated but it did improved and he didn't get rock as much after moving up. some fighters can just absorb punches better when they get heavier.

maybe, the way i see it is that cottos chins suffered at 140 due to the work he was putting in to get the weight off , i dont believe this is the case with khan and if he does move upthe bigger firepower that could be coming back at him would ruin him imo
Re: Amir Kahan the long road to nowhere
I would like to see him fight Willie Limond again.
If there wasnt a retarded ref then Khan would have been counted out;)
Not that I dislike Khan, he is a great young fighter...just not good enough yet imo:)

I think Khan has improved since his last fight with Limond, he stops him around the 4th this time out.
Re: Amir Kahan the long road to nowhere
Romanov looks a classy fighter i think its a 50/50 fight with Khan but with Katsidis i fear he might walk straight through Khan and ko him.
Re: Amir Kahan the long road to nowhere
Romanov is a class act and dismantled Thaxton with ease and the fact that Amir has not for the British title, never mind European level looks as if they are avoiding obvious fights to protect him, yet at the same time say that he will be world champion.
Re: Amir Kahan the long road to nowhere
Former Silver medal winner, Good Amatuer pedigree. Been a pro nearly four year, come on. I had a kid 14 Amatuer Bouts won 8, who in his 8th Bout won THe British Title in his 2nd year. Beating a former World Champ to do it .
