Re: WBC extend deadline for Froch-Taylor title clash
Taylor is in a different league to anyone Froch has faced.
But
For what it's worth, Lou DiBella has said - Froch will be a much harder fight for Taylor than Lacy will ;)

Even if Lacy fights Taylor at the level he was at against Manfredo, I doubt that. Maybe a more risky fight but I don't think it would actually be harder. That's me though, but I don't think Froch will present many problems at all aside from power but Taylor has a good chin and I doubt Froch gets his power to land much anyways.

Lacy really has though; Domintated one side beating by JC, Tyspko was robbed IMO and he bearly beat Manfraudo. Therefore proving me point that hes a bum, hes never going to challenge for a title again and Taylor would beat him easily. Froch is a true contender, hes number in the WBC, Inkin fagged out of his last fight, hes 23-0 19kos, I think that proves that hes certainly belongs to fight with the higher tier fighters in the 168 weights class. Thats why I want this Taylor match badly. Either way, Froch will move on to bigger better fights if Taylor doesnt take this fight.
Who did he prove it against? No matter what you say, Lacy was still champion, defended multiple times and against better fighters then Froch has ever faced. He's had a bad run I will admit that, but the fact remains that Calzaghe wasn't even Ring champion until he beat Lacy, that has to account for something.
Froch to this point has done nothing but beat C level fighters and struggle with some of them. I can see how you like Froch, exciting and has power but it's pretty obvious that he's got the style that will fail at the top level or even on the second tier.
Its not been his fault about the level of fighters he has faught. Carl fights whoever is put in front of him, Inkin was the step up and its a shame he didnt get it. If he cant fight Taylor there is a lot of other top 10 decent fighters who would step up to fight Froch.
1 .- Carl Froch (GB) BBBoC/COMM
2 .- Jermain Taylor (US)
3 .- Dennis Inkin (Russia) INTL
4 .- Jean Pascal (Haiti/Canada) LATINO/NABF
5 .- Jurgen Brahmer (Germany)
6 .- Karo Murat (Germany) EBU
7 .- Andre Ward (US)
8 .- Fulgencio Zuñiga (Colombia)
9 .- Markus Beyer (Germany)
10 .- Alejandro Berrio (Colombia)
Stick any of those fighters in with him and Froch would knock them out. Lets hope he steps up well for this fight.

That is where you have forgotton about two of Frochs other strenghts; Nimble footwork, with the range of a fighter figured out pretty early in the fight and accuracy of a punch. Froch aint wasting anything in there.
Re: WBC extend deadline for Froch-Taylor title clash
Andre Ward would box Carl Froch's face off. Taylor would do it even worse. Any of the other fighters would be a suitable test for Froch, Inkin is pretty good from what I hear and never heard of that guy in the middle. But there is no way Froch KO's all of that guy, you said I haven't watched enough Froch, think you need to watch a little less because you have clearly fallen in love with him a bit to much,

Nimble footwork? Did you see the Dale Westerman fight? A guy named Dale Westerman completely worked Froch's footwork. The smaller guy, he was faster on his feet and with the hands and I think took the first few rounds. No way Froch has anywhere near the footwork to compete with Jermain Taylor.

Maybe they see it as - Lacy has been totally exposed. Froch, although looks semi-crap more than good.. is unbeaten, ambitious, has a good chin, is a big supermiddle and can bang.
Team Taylor are far more more interested in fighting Lacy than Froch, that's for sure.. but totally understandable as it makes them more MONEY ;)

. . . . . . and less risk
Re: WBC extend deadline for Froch-Taylor title clash
I know all that. On paper Froch is the riskier opponent, but in the ring really don't think he presents many challenges to Taylor. Maybe Lacy doesn't either, to be honest unless he turns back the clock next week I'm not to high on his chances versus Taylor. He has to look really good. But I won't give any ground on Froch ;D
Re: WBC extend deadline for Froch-Taylor title clash
The Westerman fight was a very long time ago. Froch has improved A Lot since then and hes improving with every fight he has. Either way Carl still stopped Westerman...
Thats the thing you simply cant box Froch for twelve rounds, at some stage he will have to trade and if he gets caught he will slow down, like every other fighter has tried to do and failed. If you get hit with a Froch punch you will slow down, you simply cant take that power and still be quick as you were before you got hit with it.
Im not in love with Froch I just support my favourite fighter. ;D

here is a footwork video for you.
Re: WBC extend deadline for Froch-Taylor title clash
Personally, I would like to see Froch face Andre Dirrell. That would be an interesting fight and a big boost for either guy. Guess who I pick? ;)

Yeah, clearly that's how they see it.
But if Froch offered them more money i'm pretty (pretty as in certain) sure they would take that fight. ;)

Possibly.. I think Taylor and Lacy were always being lined up to meet as they rose through the rankings but it wasnt meant to happen in this manner ( both fighting to salvage reputations ) rather a superfight if both men were still champs.
As for Carl and the Watreman fight . That was a long time ago and we have to judge how a fighter is performing now. Pac got knocked out twice by bums. Tito often got floored by nobodies, and everyone has off nights ask Lewis. Fact is Froch is still unbeaten and is about at his prime right now. Dangerous fight for Taylor . Froch fights like Pavlik , but maybe a bit quicker and bigger . May not be as good but we'll see.
Re: WBC extend deadline for Froch-Taylor title clash
Are you serious? Fights like Pavlik? No. No he does not. He fights like Vic Darchinyan, he makes Roman Karmazin look technically sound. Westerman fight was just as long ago as the Typsko fight and Lacy is being judged by that. He hasn't faced a test like Westerman in the time being either.
Re: WBC extend deadline for Froch-Taylor title clash
Froch could be blessed to have the balls of Lacy to finish a 10 round fight when he had a potentially career ending Torn rotator cuff in the 2nd round and gutted out a desicion anyway...
Froch wont accompolish half the good positive things Lacy did in his career
