Re: Toney Rahman decision was terrible
I gave Rahman the first round solely because Toney was less active than him in the 1st. Toney got comfy and came on in the second. The funny thing is, Rahman pumping his jab all night long may have worked. It kept Toney outside, trying to figure a way in, but Hasim just opened the door in the 2nd and invited him in.

Yeah,That jab even in the chest was offsetting Oval Toney,Rahman hardly even launched any true power shots.....by the 2nd Toney was doing that "Stomp front foot shuffle" thing, getting cocky and that right hand wobbled and stuck with Rahman in the corner.

Not much happened in the first as I think Toney was kinda feeling him out. Things got a little better in the second but not much. In the Third Toney really started landing some good rights, and from the looks of it stunned the rock atleast once and maybe even twice. I think if the fight would have went on Toney probably would of won by TKO.
Its hard to tell since it only went three rounds but being a big Toney fan I wouldn't mind seeing him get one last shot at title.
Yes but its possible that Toney was landing those right hands mostly because Rahman couldn't see out of his left eye due to all the blood.
Anyway you slice it, a Toney TKO was bullshit in my opinion.
Shoulda been a No Contest.
Re: Toney Rahman decision was terrible
I liked the decision. Rahman was clearly trying to quit.
The Doctor said that cut was not bad enough to stop the fight, but only stopped it because of Rahman's complaints.
After an accident, it shouldn't be the fighters choice whether he wants to quit, unless he is willing to take the KO loss. Rahman should have sucked it up like other great warriors and fought on.

The doctor never said that at all. He said that Hasim informed him he couldn't see due to the blood in his eye and he therefore recommended to the referee that the fight be stopped.
He said that the cut itself was not inspected but that the referee waived the fight off on his recommendation that Rahman's vision was being impaired.
Hasim didn't quit, he didn't refuse to fight. He said he couldn't see and based on that fact the referee stopped the fight.
That's a no contest according to the rules. Now the referee could have asked the doctor to examine the cut and the doctor could have said he felt it was not severe enough to stop the fight and ordered Hasim to fight on or else forfeit the fight. This however was not done, the referee made the decision to stop the fight and Hasim was not given the option of fighting on.
In such circumstances how can anyone think it's fair to award a TKO win to Toney? If the ref thought the cut was not severe enough to warrant a stoppage then he should have ordered Hasim to continue fighting. Instead he simply stopped the fight not allowing him the opportunity. As it was a headbutt that caused the damage it HAS to be a no contest under those rules.
As I said before, it will be overturned.

Fu*k Rahman who wants to see that chump fight again anyway. By getting out then he only avoided the inevitable IMO
