Re: Roach Laid out the Plan! After DLH we'll take hatton or Floyd!!!
I may not have said it in this thread but I definately said Pac had no chance in another thread. I was genuinely stunned watching the fight.

Found my old $#!tdog post, dated 09-30-2008, 10:39 PM. :)

5′ 10½″, 35 year old Light-Middleweight (154 lbs) is past his best and slowed down quite a bit.
Ultimately Manny wins no matter what happens on fight night.
Also, nobody has mentioned De La Hoya was KNOCKED DOWN early in his career by 130 lb Giorgio Campanella and also knocked down by 5'5" 133 lb Narciso Valenzuela.
Oscar was green then in '93 and '94, but some Pacman-sized guys still had him down, and they were nothing like the caliber of the Pacman.

Good post there, Cracky, the one about it being a "lose-lose fight" for De La Hoya.
I still think it's an interesting fight.
I really don't think De La Hoya could be competitive with Cotto nor Margarito anymore.
He can't beat Shane Mosely. There's no mega-fight at 154. He'd get slaughtered at Middleweight.
Hatton's the only other guy. De La Hoya will only take a big name now.
I think Pacquiao's going to win this fight.
De La Hoya has a puncher's chance, but one good solid left from Oscar is all it would take to KO Pacquiao.
De La Hoya hasn't been at 147 lbs in over 7 years. He'll be drained from training camp, dehydration, and age. His reflexes are gone. He's never had a good right hand. He's fighting a south-paw.
8 oz gloves as Manny wanted. Helluva a size differential, but Manny's in his prime fighting a much bigger but also a slower and older fighter. I think Manny's going to light him up with speed, combinations, and sheer energy.

But for PAc he and Roach are saying its not just about the money that oscars a legend he wants to go down in history as the greatest asian/boxer of all time...you wanna go down in history??? Then fight Cotto or Margarito that way you can go down in history as the dumb flip who thought he walked on water and died in the ring from a jab from Margo or a hook to the body from Cotto.
Just be honest is all im saying...oh and my girlfriend's a Pinay, just a joke abou the flip comment, I love Manny I will miss him when he dies.
Wow, reflection comes in odd places. I cant believe Im having an epiphany on a boxing forum.
I cant believe my post here. I'm actually very embarrassed by it, not because Manny beat up everyone I mentioned but because of the racial slur I used to describe him. I've read some of my past posts before and I can see why I didn't get along with a lot posters on here. I was a straight dickhead and this post really showcases that to myself.
My apologies to anyone I may have offended back in the day.
Happy New Year.

Ahah hah, look at all the humbled folks tryin' to let this thread sink to the bottom and to page 2 as quick as possible, hopin' nobody'll comment thereby bumping it back to the top...

Almost nobody wants to own up to it and admit just how completely off-base they were...

Let's hear it, $#!t-snaps, the sound of people swallowing their pride!
Don't be ashamed, you're all fortunate to have had a true Ring-Legend in your time:
Manny PacMan Pacquiao.
A legitimate All-Time Great.
As a barometer for comparison, when I was a young dude, we had the Great fighters of the early 1980s. I think Pacquiao's the Greatest fighter of the past 25 years.
Circa mid 2008-2010, that dude was in The Zone. Phenomenal run.
But even before that unbelievable period, he had already done enough circa 2003-early 2008 to earn a place in the Hall-of-Fame with the 3 Erik Morales fights, the 2 Barrera fights, and the first 2 Marquez fights.

I also noticed that i wrote Pac off in this fight too, and wrote him off after Jmm kayoed him. Made me wonder he might just get his revenge vs Bradley and hey maybe even give Mayweather the toughest fight of his life. When all is said and done Pac will be remembered as the most exciting price fighter of all time and the most humble too.
Re: Roach Laid out the Plan! After DLH we'll take hatton or Floyd!!!
As weak as ODH was, Manny was on fire and went on a great run of victories beating quality fighter after quality fighter. Floyd definitely got intimidated by it.
