thanks for the pics Mick. You put the fights in backwards though right?? I mean Gamboa was last on HBO, Martinez first. Anyway I thought it was a helluva card for boxing after dark.

Tsurkan should have not been allowed to fight so long.

Gamboa looks very cocky to me. I guess he has the right to be. But it is quite a step up to world opposition....compared to Tsurkan.

Excellent shots and footage. The comments about Gamboa's seeming cockiness and large entourage sound unnerving. He's barely had a dozen fights yet and he's building himself up like he's Mike Tyson! I hope he was just in an off mood and the rest is all just a front....for his sake.

The Baldomir pic was good. Baldomir looked ancient, but maybe that was just because he was up against Mick. Dunno. ;D

Well in fairness, Gamboa has like a million amature fights......so if he hadn't had them he is probably thinking he would already be a superstar..... or perhaps it saved him from getting knocked the out.

I was a little let down by the card, I thought we were in for a nice triple header, but it was mostly uneventful. Martinez did steal the show.

Agreed- thought Martinez looked pretty untouchable; would like to see him take the next step up in competition.

I also side with Kellerman's take that Gamboa is just going to get himself knocked out with the rushes and the flurries... my question is (never seen this guy fight before), is all that athleticism covering up for a lack of boxing skill? If some guy he was able to knockout so quickly was also able to floor him (elbow or no elbow) just as quickly, what's he going to do when someone actually makes him box?

Well No Contest for me it's completely different.
When your there and you can see exactly what's going on in each corner you can hear what the corner is saying. You can see when Bunemas being given crystal clear water and he spits out what appears to be "Cherry" Kool-Aid :puke: My girl kept looking away during the Bunema & Tusrkan rest periods as they would spit out blood ;D

Gamboas got a solid amateur back ground...
Actually one of the most solid amateurs in recent times.
He's def. skilled but he still fights very much like an amateur at times.
You can check him out on YouTube there's several of his fights there.
