Fuck risking his health for pride of other people. The man has children, perserving himself to see them grow older is always the right thing to do!
IMO every MEXICAN SHOULD LOOK UP TO OSCAR CAUSE HE CARRIED OUT THE AMERICAN DREAM EVERY SINGLE IMMIGRANT CAME IN HOPE FOR.
So what he lost, he still a MUCH BIGGER WINNER IN LIFE THEN ALL OTHER MEXICAN FIGHTER. JCC who is most beloved in mexico aint half a WINNER oscar is in LIFE. Oscar aint called the golden boy for nothing. Oscar still has the best career after boxing. Thats more then any boxer that ever fought can say.
I think if anybody is hating of dela hoya its only because their pocket aint half as big as his.
That is just totally gay.
Oscar is called the Golden Boy for a reason and that is because he wears ladies underwear and has an orange sheen. Quit with this post beating drivel. He was shit, end of.
Oscar is an American and all this immigration nonsense just sounds silly concerning him.
:lolhaha:
oh and wat is sheen??

Although this guys paper sucked and I cant believe they are giving away degrees with BS like that, he did make one resounding point that made sensel; Oscar has beat the "Real Mexican fighters" Chavez, Vargas, Paez, Ruelas and that has hurt him in a sense with Mexican, Mex-American, and Latin/Hispanic fans and the reason behind it is because we still are stuck in the dark ages. Hispanic people like other minority groups relate more to someone in their own difficult situation instead of aspiring to or being proud of someone of their own race who has made big accomplishments or has succeeded greatly in life. Not to say that those other boxers were broke or didnt accomplish anything, but not on the level of ODLH and we resent his success. But no other Hispanic/Latin/Mexican fighter has done more for his people then ODLH. We should all thank him for being a great role model for our younger generations (I dont have kids so I wont say for our kids) and for casting a great light on our culture and people.
Even if those pictures were him, so what everyone has their kinks and fetishes he just got caught doing his, how many of you dont enjoy your woman tossing your salad and sticiking her finger in your ass? Dont lie you raunchy fuckers!!! Getting your salad tossed is a mighty good feeling!!! Does that make you less man? No thats just what you like. If he likes dressing like a girl so be it.
Most of the time we hear only negative news on Hispanics; Immigration, gangs, illegal labor...it goes on and on. He brings a different image, Successful, business minded, Good looking, the list goes on and on. Am I jocking Oscar? Fuck ya I am. We should all want to be Multi-Millionaires, run our own companies, had our run of kicking ass, have the looks of a model, have boned plenty of hot chicks, and now be living on easy street.
Dont judge him as only a fighter because he's not, judge his as a human being and you will like admire him alot more.
:gay-as-steelie: finally got a chance to use that one ;D.

That's should read like that not like this "thats." Know should have a w at the end and "I guessing no" should be "I'm guessing no".
But hey you keep at those "Hooked on Phonics" books you'll get it tiger.

Re: Why Mexicans Hate Oscar De La Hoya
Concerning the original topic, I went to school with a guy from East L.A. and our freshman year ('96) we were talking about it and he said alot of people in East L.A. don't like Oscar because he's a pretty boy. Keep in mind this was three years before the Trinidad marathon. He also added that JCC was like Jordan there, so it's understandable some of it could be resentment for Oscar beating him, but I think in reality NO fighter who is a pretty boy will have a hardcore fanbase. Oscar and Ray Leonard are the only two fighters in history who's main fanbase consists of mainstream fans. They have no real hardcore fanbase that is significantly big.

i agree
considering 80% of the replys have been from non-mexicans it kind of defeats the object to assertain a genuine perspective on the matter at hand.
Would be pretty pissed if a non-brit started a thread entitled "why is britain head over heels in love with junior witter"
:lolhaha::lolhaha::lolhaha:

Re: Why Mexicans Hate Oscar De La Hoya
I have to admit one thing some people do forget the peak of the fighter and just remember the last fight. Lloyd Honeyghan won many wars but was roundly booed when he got stopped by Breland and that was sad because they forget the wars with Vaca, and winning the title against Curry. Just the nature of the game.
Oscar was a very good super feather and earned his reputation by taking on the welters that were not fighting one another, Whitaker, Tito and Ike. Credit for that but against hall of famers he lost all them. Very good but not great.

.
That plus many Mexicans would of been stung in their hip pocket and lost thousands in private bets across the country.
Plus theres a fair bit of hatred going around in Mexico anyway (plenty to share around ;)).

This alone speaks as to how the average Mexican boxing fan did not appreciate how Oscar ran away from Tito in the last three rounds of the fight, regardless of the reason. A dislike that was obviously shared by the three judges judging the fight.
Sorry... I took the liberty of editing your post a bit.
