But if you did the same with Holyfield he would easily be convicted by public opinion. You would be hard pressed to find a boxer with a muscular and defining build like Holyfield. There may not be even one. And as far as steroids. I know a lot of amateur athletes on the juice and I would only imagine that it gets heavy when salaries are at stake. I believe a lot of sports have a performance enhancing drug problem. Whether it be known or not.
Good post
Re: Is Evander Holyfield really a drug cheat?
He's definitely a drug cheat! and it destroys his legacy for me, how would he have performed in thos heavyweight fights minus the steroids? I know that steroids don't give you skill. And Holyfield was very skilled but I doubt he would have been strong enough to compete.

Ice-it was 12 pounds in a year. That's not impossible but like I said I wouldn't be surprised if he was using,
Roy Jones put on almost twenty pounds in about 5 months before Ruiz and he still didn't look like he had an ounce of fat. Just saying.
Roy Jones for the first time in his career also was using weight training to bulk up. I think Roy weighed in at 194lbs which is 19lbs above the lightheavyweight limit. So he was probably fighting somewhere near to his natural weight and added the weight training excercise to fill out which wouldn't take long at all. Just look at David Haye.

Are you for real? He would have always massacred Tyson!

200lbs would have been his non training weight, when he moved up to heavy he was solid, it has to be steroids, to do that naturally would take a couple of years if its possible, ask any bodybuilder or aspiring bodybuilder and they will tell you how hard they find it to put on muscle, yet Holyfield, Jones,Toney and Mosely all go up in weight and have vastly more muscled bodys.
Although Toney was carrying fat, look at his traps, theyre huge, same as Holyfield.
Im now wondering about Hayes physique, hes put some lean mass on, although he was heavier for Bonin than Barrett, is it possible to gain then lose then gain again:-\:p
He doesnt look that cut though so could well be just fluids?
It isn't hard for some people to put on muscle, people with good genes can easily pack on muscle. I was pretty slim when i was 16, but i've put on a good 20+ pounds of muscle when i started working out seriously. At about 17 and a half or somewhere round there im now 19.
When I was 19 I weighed 180lbs and now I'm 24 225lbs and I can assure you I've never touched any steroids. weight training made me put on almost 25 pounds in the first year alone. Muscle is a lot easier to put on than cut believe me.
Re: Is Evander Holyfield really a drug cheat?
A friend of mine while in the army went to Kenya for 3 months with the army.
In his spare time out there all he did was pump iron.Eat the right food and no alchol.100% dedicated.
He was a different person when he got back and was much bigger and cut up coz of the weights all drug free.
It can be done in you are dedicated enough.

Ok, prove you put on lean muscle by posting a picture from when you were 19 and one from now;D

Roys natural weight isnt much above light heavy, hes got a small frame, he bulked up QUICK and had no fat, dont be daft:rolleyes:

Are you serious with this ???
As much as I love Mike Tyson, invincible is hardly the word I would have used to describe him at the time. Lazy is more like it.

With them only testing after the fight it is extremely easy for a fighter to use steroids all through training camp and never get caught. Random testing is the only way to catch these guys in the act but when you have no true organization ruling over fighters it's next to impossible to catch the smarter ones. Ban a guy in Tennessee he'll go fight in Arkansas. To really hurt a fighter you have to ban him in New York and Las Vegas and most of the other states won't touch him. But then there's always overseas.

It depends on how you categorize Viagra!
