Trainer, I didn't stereotype anyone, I just mentioned one (OF MANY) activities practiced by the people of this culture....an activity I actually wish more cultures participated in, just not to the extent that we wish people killed in the name of God. I just don't appreciate the stoning of victims and cutting off innocent people's heads in the name of Allah. Where is the outrage at the absolute homicides committed by Western religions,because there's plenty of them to work with?
If some jackass hunts down an abortion clinic worker and blows their brains out,I bet you I dont hear about it 24/7 on Faux News,some jackass who happens to be muslim sends a firecracker in to Israel,I know whats going to dominate the news cycle for the next week

But Trainer the point I think we're all trying to make to you is.....in one culture somebody like Timmothy McVeigh is seen as a complete nutter and murderer and in another culture someone who blows themself up and kills a bunch of others (infidels) in the process is a martyr.

I have little use for religion but after multiple combat tours to Afghanistan and Iraq I have found that in today's world Islam brings out the worst in humanity. Every organized religion has its fair share of crazies and zealots. The difference I've found is that the mainstream of most denounce these fringe groups and their violent or inhumane acts. I have either never or rarely heard of moderate or "good" muslims speak out against the violence and inhumane treatment of sharia law. With the growth of Islam especially in European countries where is the world wide outcry against Jihadism and Sharia Law? The international community was pretty quick to galvanize in their dislike for Bush where is the condemnation of Iran? Taliban? Shia Militias? AQI? There is no diplomacy with this kind of rational. There is no dialogue. Christianity and Judaism have found ways to make their respective religions work with todays culture. Until Islam as a whole can find away to evolve with a changing world I think I will continue to have muslims in my crosshairs.

Trainer personally I don't think that enemy combatants deserve the same rights as US citizens nor do I think we should follow any rules of war that our adversary doesn't. I'll take torture at Gitmo over decapitation on Al Jazeera all day. And you are right to an extent. The big picture isn't always about religion. It is about power and money. But the tool used to recruit and motivate men and women to murder and commit horrible acts is religion. Islam's supreme leaders could stop this. They could be widely vocal against jihadism but they don't. The world's muslim population is woefully silent on the unattractive underside of their faith.

At the end of the day,Lyle is moderate to far right,he isnt even close to serious hard right,those guys have compounds and scare me way more then Muslims. I dont have a Muslim living anywhere near me,but I bet I can find a methed up Christian who gods been talking to lately.

Trainer my experience in the Arab/Muslim world is that violence wins the day. Their culture doesn't respond to rational thought. It doesn't respond live and let live. They believe in absolutes. There is a reason that most arab/muslim nations are ruled by an iron fisted govt/monarch. I offered the world to tons of Iraqi's and rarely got anything but lipservice but a barrel of a gun got a lot of results. If you think we can play by our rules and win you are mistaken.
