Suspended pending investigation... I think that's basically how it works in any sporting or professional arena... Like a teacher accused of dealing drugs or hanky panky with the kiddies etc, or a sportsman suspected of drug use...
In the court it's innocent until proven guilty,, on this side of things though, it's more like, protection of everyone around the person first, then ensure everything is right before the person is put back into play...
It's for the safety of everyone around that a person is suspended and then investigated.. It's unfortunate to some degree if a person is found to have done nothing wrong, but it doesn't come up often that someone is suspended in such a way without a good measure of suspicion.

They had their license revoked now because the pad itself was illegal, whether or not it has plaster on it doesn't matter, it was illegal. It was used padding that was wet, and the trainer admitted to placing it in there.
This isn't over yet. They said the licenses were revoked for a minimum of one year. If the pad comes back as positive for some kind of foreign substance on it, they can change their ruling, and keep his license revoked for a longer time period, or for life.
Re: WBC: Margarito is innocent!
Well to me if it is not palster or somthing that can cause way more damage then fist then i say they should let him box next year i seen far worse then something wrong with the glove but if it was just somthing like like plaster which more harmful then the fist it self then yea ban.

Exactly, and how this guy behaves between his hearing when the final judgment will most likely be taken in to account his final judgment. His handlers are _________. (fill in the blank)
Owning up to what he did or to paraphrase his words "let happen" is better for him and boxing than to hiring some slick Lawyer dude whose interest is to drag thinks out so he can make more money. (I'd be willing to lay down odds that no one explained it to Margarito.)
Re: WBC: Margarito is innocent!
Here's a good articly by The Ring, regarding Sulaiman's dumbass statement.

Wasn't he already cleared from the Cotto fight? Someone even posted the link to those news a few weeks ago.

I agree. This is so bad that Sulaiman should be removed or be forced to resign as president. When I wrote that the WBC support of Margarito was an obviously corruption, I had no idea that they did it so blindly.
Luis Resto (boxer) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Billy Collins Jr Incident
On June 16, 1983 Resto unexpectedly beat undefeated prospect Billy Collins Jr at Madison Square Garden in New York City in a 10-round unanimous decision. The fight was the undercard for a bout between Roberto DuranDavey Moore. and However, Collins' father and trainer, Billy, Sr., discovered that Resto's gloves were thinner than normal. When Billy, Sr. reached out to shake Resto's hand, he felt only leather over fist. Screaming that he thought the gloves had no padding, Collins, Sr. demanded that the New York State Boxing Commission impound the gloves. An investigation revealed that someone had removed an ounce of padding from each of his gloves. However, it was obvious even before then that the gloves had been altered. Collins' eyes were swollen shut by the end of the 10th round, and the rest of his face was so badly swollen that it was impossible to believe a light puncher could have inflicted such damage.[1] Collins suffered a torn iris and permanently blurred vision, ending his career. He died only months later when he drove his car into a culvert while intoxicated. Some commentators have speculated that the loss of his livelihood drove him into a downward spiral. Collins' father has since postulated that his son commited suicide[4][5] After a month's investigation, the New York State Boxing Commission determined that Resto's trainer, Panama Lewis, had removed the padding from Resto's gloves. It also determined that Resto should have known the gloves were illegal. The commission suspended Resto's boxing license for at least a year. Since most state boxing commissions honor sanctions from other states, this effectively banned Resto from boxing in the United States.[1] Resto's win was subsequently changed to a no contest.[3]
In 1986, Lewis and Resto were both put on trial and found guilty of assault, criminal possession of a weapon (Resto's hands) and conspiracy. Prosecutors charged that the bout amounted to an illegal assault on Collins and that Resto should have known that the padding had been removed from his gloves. Resto served 2.5 years in prison.[1]
At last report, Resto was living rent-free in the basement of the Morris Park Boxing Gym in the Bronx.[6] After 15 years of trying to regain his license, he was finally allowed to work as a cornerman by New York State.[1]
In 2007, Resto apologized to Collins' widow, Andrea Collins-Nile, who is suing the state of New York for not protecting her late husband. Resto also told Collins-Nile that Lewis placed plaster underneath his hand wraps, greatly--and illegally--increasing his punching power. Combined with the removed padding, this meant that Resto had been practically hitting Collins with rocks for 10 rounds. The hand wraps had never been confiscated. Resto also visited Collins' gravesite and said, "I'm sorry for what I did to you." In 2008, he told the The Tennessean that he'd been burdened by guilt over his involvement in the scheme for almost a quarter century.[7]
At a 2008 press conference, Resto said that he knew Lewis had taken the padding out of his gloves and had done so at least twice before. However, Resto said, he didn't protest at the time even though he knew it was wrong. "At the time, I was young," he said. "I went along." [8] In 2008, Resto began to coach boxing at Capital Jiu-Jitsu in Sterling, Virginia.

Yeah, what I was trying to say is that he was cleared from the Cotto fight. He beat Cotto fair square. But as for his recent fight, yeah, different story.
Margarito seemed like an all around nice athlete. Don't know what to say now.

I say Paul Williams must have a good chin if he went 12 rounds with plaster man.

How was he cleared? Who had the xray vision? Against Mosley, the wraps had already been signed off when Naazim Richardson insisted that the wraps be removed in which Margaritos team protested but the commisioners later gave to ok and that is when the bricks fell out. I guess Evangelista is to blame for not doing the commisioners job? It is not the trainers job but from the looks of things, it might as well be because these phukers are not worth a damn. Too bad Evangelista was not trying to be an asshole about it like Margarito's people were trying to make Naazim Richardson out to be.
