Unfortunately it's 10:30 in the morning and I've been awake since 6am watching boxing. I wish I was drunk so I could bash you all on the head with a tree! ;D:p

Good job Kahn. Unlucky for him it had to end that way.
i think khan would of done barrera regardless
Totally missed the fight.Favoritism aside,Congratulations to Khan.Cuts happen and are a fact of the sport,Barrera has been there....done that.No crutches needed.I hope he retires head held high as a great champion!
I'll rep mostly everyone in this thread once i spread some lol.
This is what i was expecting from the forum after the fight, i was disapointed to log on and see so many bitter posts just cos khan did the opposite of what everyone thought before hand and looked absolutly electric.
I mean fair enough making a point about the fight being a possible no contest but it wasnt and Khan looked as though he corrected ALOT of bad habits. loving the hands being glued to the chin after every attack.
He done it all right, moved off when MAB wanted to fight and overwhelmed when he wanted a break.
Credit where credit is due.
That was the best Ive ever seen Khan but he wouldnt have been able to box so well had blood been pouring into his eyes. Same said for Barrera he could have boxed better if he had the luxury of vision and seemings as it was a headbutt I dont think he should have been punished for it by being handed a loss.
Oscar - Chavez , fair enough because punches caused it but if theres a headbutt and a fighter cant continue then I fail to see how Khan won. It was a heabutt that stopped Barrera . Not legit IMO.
Saying that , moving forward lets ee how much Khan has improved by fighting Prescot again. I want someone to ask him why he wont give him a rematch. Its what the public want .
My take on the fight...
The cut was a major factor in the fight and you can see that it did put Barrera off majorily. However, for Khan he did use his speed very well and he was in and out using his handspeed and he was in control of the fight. I believe the fight would have been very different if the cut hadnt had happened. HOWEVER, Khan did look a lot more mature as a fighter and he looks like he has done a lot of work on his defence. Hes not as cocky as he use to be and that was very good to see. He was doing what he does best, box and it was very good to watch IMO.
The benefits for Khan from this fight is that he will be very confident that he can do what he was doing. I will tell you this if he does that for 12 rounds and uses his improved defence hes going to cause problems for any fighter at 135. His speed is a major factor and with added training I can only see Khan improving. I do think Khan has to recognise that the cut was a major factor against Barrera, but he needs to bear in mind that its going to be a very hard route for him to the championship as his chin is still very poor. If he can use his footwork and concentrate fully for 12 rounds every single fight, like he was doing last night he will do well in the future. I dont believe his career is over just because of his poor chin and his confidence I think will make him into a better fighter.
I do feel sorry for Barrera though, I dont think a rematch will happen. I dont know where he will go from this fight now. I see him carrying on but it was clear even with the cut that Khans speed would have made it a closer fight. The cut was a major major factor though and it was a great shame IMO because I believe it would have been a good fight to see.
I hope Khan can see the positives from the fight and work in the gym to keep on improving his defence to make him an even better fighter. Well done for him not getting KTFO in the first round and I look forward to seeing his next fight.
Eh, I just don't like the kid, not as good as his team tries to push and he is a bit of an ass, he needs to learn some respect, his father is as big of an ass as Enzo Calzaghe is.....
Want to impress me and give me reason to think the kid will be worth something in the future other then maybe a world title led through handpicked opponents then waiting for the right moment to catch a champion at their weakness...
Sign a fight with Juan Diaz....If Kahn can make it through 5 rounds with that kid then come out with a win Ill say he has a future actually worth something...
For the record I stated Barrera had no business back in a boxing ring so there are no bitter feelings on the fight outcome
Just a quick add...I will give the kid credit for the win but lets not jump up and down inviting each other over for an Amir Kahn themed slumber party just yet...Remember he has not beaten a prime fighter worth a pinch of salt and he fell on his face the first time he met a puncher
