I didn't mind early Fleetwood Mac. But on the rest.......they all suck. Once I answered a question in Junior College: who was Jethro Tull? I said, "Some shit rock band that had a jazz flute." The professor said, "You are showing your age, he was actually the inventor of some.........agricultural implement."

Zeppelin, Doors are great choices, I have friends who are baffled by this but I really hate Tool

I know there are so many more but I can't think of them right now. Kid A is an overrated record by a great band but that's another thread I guess.

I dislike Tool as well. I didn't really like the album work at all. I also didn't like them live at all either.

This goes along with any band in that genre.. Papa Roach, Avenged Sevenfold..

There are a ton of bands that are all fabrication.. They come and go..

U2 is highly overrated IMO, along with Coldplay who i cannot even attempt to tolerate listening to..

I thought Nickleback and Creed and that group was for the 30-40+ folks who can't deal with being older??? 15 year olds like the the sugar coated punk/emo stylings of groups like My Chemical Romance.

I dislike Coldplay a lot...Chris Martin is a pretentious twat. And you know if you gave the guys from Staind British Accents and then coupled that with Green Day's political views and Bono's sense of self worth you'd have Coldplay....depressing music, idiotic political views AND a feeling that they have a "message"along with British accents and an overwhelming self righteousness = Coldplay.

I know a ton of folks LOVE Nirvana but once again (although I will admit their sound/style was new at the time) their songs are waaaay too played out and I just am not feeling the love for that group....sorry. And it was some big ass surprise that Cobain offed himself, hell every fucking song I heard him sing I sort of got the feeling that he wasn't a "Sunshine on my Shoulders", "Zippidee Doo Da", kind of guy. Pearl Jam too...no offense, I just think they are a tad overrated.

I love metal and I will loudly proclaim that Tool sucks balls. The music is good, but the vocals and especially the lyrics are so boring and redundant. We get it, you don't like God or religion. Good for you, sing about something else for fucksake. I was a big fan of Undertow, Aenima, and Lateralus (which I still feel is their best album), but they bore me to tears now and I can't listen to any of the albums I once really enjoyed. I feel like I'm listening to a 14 yr. old whine whenever I heard Maynards lyrics.

They blew live too.

A Perfect Circle also sucks, mainly as a result of Maynard.

man i can't keep up with rock debates, i just recently got into rock. You guys will probubly laugh at me if i tell which band i listen to....:-\

but i dont care i like what i like, i haven't heard enough to debate if they are good but to me they rock :p

btw i wouldn't mind if anyone makes a list of rock songs that are a must to listen to. ;)

It really depends on what type of "rock" you are into. What's the name of the band you really like? I might be able to suggest music that is similar.

Theres one band that never gets a mention as regards great bands. Yet working with groups for 15 years every band Ive spoken too Rates them Bigtime Moody Blues.
