HE'S GOT MORE EXPERIENCE FIGHTING ABOVE 115. 70% of his KO wins in his record were from 115+.
Montiel is 39-2 (29 KO's) Donaire is 21-1 (14 KO's)
Montiel started at Flyweight and had roughly 18 fights at that weight
roughtly 12 fights at Super Flyweight
and roughly 7 fights at Bantam weight
Donaire has only fought above 112, 14 times, 19 fights against better opposition to 14 fights against shit opposition, hmmm i wonder who has more relevant experience at the higher weights

Too many "roughly" there for Montiel.
Numbers, stats, and size speaks for itself for Nonito. Donaire has more experience fighting at higher weight class than Montiel. Nuff said.

Gonzalez is bigger, stronger (height, weight, and reach), and has all of his fights above 115 and never hurt Montiel, what makes you think Donaire will? Montiel lost by SD to Gonzalez and it was his first fight at Bantam, that has to say something, and the fact that Gonzalez went on to challenge Super Bantam king Israel Vazquez and was easily beating him and had him down 2 times i believe before the resilient Vazquez came back to stop him, says even more about Montiel's ability to take on bigger fighters and do very well

Credit to Montiel for facing those big names. But everything will be different for him under the lights if he faces Donaire. Montiel gets hit a lot and that's a well known fact (I won't even argue about it). I've seen Montiel down on the canvas more than twice. Left hook to the body is his money punch, and Donaire can easily avoid them with his quick reflex and can easily fire counterpunch against Montiel at will.
I hope they fight sooner than later to find out whos the man!

And officially, you have no correct prediction when there is a filipino fighter involved...
.
:vd: It's funny how you and the rest all jumped on the Donaire band wagon afterwards. I knew about that muthafukka before all you clowns. I had him beating Darcinyan. Post number 9 says it all.

Look how many of your flip buddies pick against him. Now all you guys sucking his dikk all of a sudden. :lolhaha:
well, he was american back then, now that he's filipino...
but seriously, that was his coming out party and have been impressed with nonito since then. props to you for picking him over darchi.
That's one way of saying you picked against him
Re: Nonito Donaire vs. Fernando Montiel
Lol. Reminiscing Donaire's win over Darchinyan aren't we? That was a sweet sweet victory. I get to own eagle for 1 month on that one. :)

no it's not a done deal, Fernando Montiel Vs Eric Morel is a done deal and it's for the WBO Bantamweight title, and it's on the undercard of Pavlik/Mora

Donaire only landed his sharp accurate punches on Martinez cause Martinez was exactly what i said he was before the fight, he was a sacrificial lamb with an undefeated record, being slayed to make Donaire look good, Montiel is no pushover like Martinez and will be Donaire's toughest opponant since Darchinyan

Montiel took another power punchers shots just fine and he was bigger and had a hell of a lot more pop in his punches, his names Jhonny Gonzalez, Montiel is not a bit chinny

Donaire is one of the champs at flyweight, Darchinyan is the undisputed super flyweight champ, and Montiel is now making noise at bantamweight, so he's got a lot of weight jumping to do, and for the record, Shaw want's nothing to do with Donaire for personal reasons, Darchinyan's been calling him out since he beat Mijares
Useful info....now i know.

Many boxing experts/fans including here at Saddo expect Martinez to give Donaire a tough fight... There's a considerable number of people who even picked Martinez to upset Donaire...
Montiel doesn't have the reach to match that of Donaire and he's only as tall as Martinez... Tho Montiel has the experience, I still expect Donaire to outsmart and outskill Montiel...
.

Let me remind you VD why you picked Donaire during that time when almost everybody was picking Darchinyan.
You picked Donaire because you hated DArchinyan. You always pick a fighter's opponent if you don't like the guy. You never pick based on intelligent decision. That is one thing I'm sure about you and many will agree with me on that. Stop making claims that you know Donaire before he fought Darchinyan.

that is actually the first fight i've seen nonito in, and he's been improving each fight. so it's not after his last fight i've jumped on his bandwagon no.
Re: Nonito Donaire vs. Fernando Montiel
I remember Nonito during his interview after the fight saying "There's a lot of Filipino that didn't believe in me. And I'm sure they're gonna support me now, because I proved to the world that I am something".
I guess you're not alone KKissler. And good call for Pacstraightleft. :)
Re: Nonito Donaire vs. Fernando Montiel
Ive been following Nonito since he was a 6 rounder in California. I recall everytime Nonito wins a bout,he would go up to GARY SHAW and tell him "see the power, see the power?".
I guess Nonito is still new that time....

and i said it clearly before the Martinez fight, that if he didn't easily get passed Martinez he wouldn't have a chance in there against Montiel, all the Martinez did was prove me right, he didn't deserve to be in that ring with Donaire, it was just a showcase fight for Nonito nothing more nothing less, and yes he did pass with flying colors, if he wouldn't have, nobody would be saying anything, but IMO Montiel will school Nonito, with overall better boxing ability, speed (yes i consider him the faster fighter), and his awesome offense

Montiel gets hit a lot. He's got problem fighting southpaws, and Donaire is also excellent in southpaw stance. And I don't think Montiel will be able to take Donaire's punch.
