For Froch to take the rematch with Taylor would be like when Margarito turned down Cotto to fight Paul Williams, when Juan Manuel Marquez felt it would be a good idea to go to Indonesia to fight Chris John or when Raphael Marquez thought Isreal Vazquez deserved a second chance.
Why take the risk?
Also from Taylors point of view too. I know he'd like to avenge the loss but why go after a big puncher who already took everything you could throw at him and then knocked you out?
Taylor should look to fight someone easier to get himself back in the mix. Jean Pascal Froch's last opponent would be a good matchup, maybe he can try and call out Roy Jones.
There's even the possibility of a fight with Paul Williams, I think a lot of people would be interested to see how that would pan out and a chance to get right back into the big time if he wins.
There are far more easier and sensible fights for both fighters right now.
In winning this fight by KO Froch basically hauled himself out some serious quicksand. Only an idiot would then wade back in and try and fight for their life all over.
Exactly. Taylor had Pavlik in an even better position than he had Froch in their first fight but because he couldn't finish it came back to haunt him as it did last night. But you can't take anything away from Froch and Pavlik they both did what was needed and Pavlik got in Taylor's head as I think Froch may have done and it showed in the rematch where Taylor seemed frightened to take too many chances.
So judging by that I think I would favour Froch in a rematch, but I really want to see Froch Vs Kessler. Two solid chins and big hitters who like to move forward. Make's for a great matchup for me!
Bilbo dont think a match between Pavlik and Froch would be a good fight.
Not to mention that they both beat Taylor so that has some back ground.
I don't understand mate, do you mean you don't think Froch vs Pavlik would be a good fight or are you asking me if I don't think it would be a good fight?
I think it's a great fight if it happened. I most want him to fight Lucian Bute though in Canada with Andrade fighting Alan Green on the undercard just so I can have a sig bet with CFH :p
Its a shame Carl has to call for Calzaghe, hes retired! Jim Grey asked him about Kessler and Carl replies with Calzaghe;D
He certainly knows how to make noise without getting trouble.
When he watched himself get knocked down, first he "slipped" then he was fine and knew where he was, yeah, on his ass;D
I just watched it properly and against a Calzaghe or Kessler who arent gunshy and hesitant like Taylor, all those openings are possible knockdowns against Carl;)
I'd like to see a rematch, but only because Taylor would have to get on a plane next time (he should have got on a plane this time too mind). It's about time the Americans realised they're not at the centre of the boxing universe.
Pavlik is a very dangerous fight for Froch. It's also a very dangerous fight for Taylor. We've seen that Froch's "iron" chin can get checked, and we know Kelly can be hurt, too. Both fighters are relaxed in the ring and can go 12, and both guys are good finishers. Froch is naturally bigger, but Pavlik has better technique. I would give either fighter a lot of credit if they made this fight within the next year.
