I kind of wonder whether Goosen ever really liked this fight. Seemed obstinate as hell in negotiations, almost caused them to break down completely and now seems in a gigantic hurry to move on.
That's not to excuse Kelly who's been acting erratic as hell lately.
I'm not sure Kelly is fast enough to be able to land on Paul to really test his chin. Kelly made BHop look like he 25 years old but against Paul he'd face a much younger, faster man in his prime who's also a lefty.Quote:

It hasn't been that long. Pavlik fought Rubio in the beginning of the year. Hopkins, the man who beat Pavlik and who occupies the #3 spot on ESPN's p4p list, hasn't fought since October and has nothing scheduled for the near future. David Haye has fought even less over the last year and legitimately backed out of two title fights.Quote:

First off, it would not surprise me at all if there is some truth to the rumors that Pavlik is out of shape and using the infection as an excuse to postpone the fight and buy himself time. And if that's the case, he should have been straight up during the negotiations and said that he couldn't do Oct. 3.
And I can understand 100% why Williams would be pissed. But Williams needs to realize that he can make more money fighting Pavlik than anyone else, and if he beats Pavlik, he'll have a huge win on his resume and he'll be the middleweight champion of the world to boot. He can wait an extra 6-8 weeks to get that chance.

It is quite a bummer but at least, it is not postponed "too" far, it could be the epic start of a very good 2010.
I have a feeling that Pavlik won't be fighting for the rest of this year, and who knows whether we will get this fight now.

I'm starting to think that the alchoholic rumors are true. Pavlik is acting very weird lately
I dont know how a guy could be called Ring Champion especially when it will be almost a year of inactivity do to self abuse...
Pavlik hasnt recovered from the Hop clinic and just dosent have the desire anymore
Now December 5th is a possibility again. This is getting ridiculous.
I am glad though, that Goossen is demanding his medical records.
