Re: Don't ever fight in Texas, 118-110 WTF?!?!?!?
It was a close fight & could have gone either way, I had Paulie ahead. But that score is just crazy!!! How the f*ck do these judges get away with this sh*t? Any other job I know of; if you f*ck up big (like this) you get warnings, written, verbal etc then eventually fired, but these chumps keep getting away with it over & over & nothing seems to happen
Re: Don't ever fight in Texas, 118-110 WTF?!?!?!?
i had diaz 115-113 im not surprise about the 118 score buts it a golden boy fighter in golden boy promotions in his city its likely malignaggi wasnt gonna win like both fighters hopefully malignaggi get i fight thats means something to his career
Re: Don't ever fight in Texas, 118-110 WTF?!?!?!?
The Great State of Texas should apologize to Mr. Malignaggi. Makes the state, HBO, and boxing look bad bad bad. Just for the book I pulled for DIAZ but he sure got the *&^% beat out of him last night. All of you who have it close are from Texas, HBO, or Golden Flow! Even HBO was in on this one... I am glad winners are decided by the market these days according to HBO - crap I thought it was about the fighters... Just have to know your market I guess! This kind of crap is OK for Washington but for Boxing? I say NO - this one need to be investigated and turned around.
Re: Don't ever fight in Texas, 118-110 WTF?!?!?!?
EDC-
I sent email to the Texas License Board regarding the blatant judging of the Diaz vs Malignaggi bout. It was a miscarriage of justice...so much so, that I joined this forum and stepped up to the plate for Mr.Malignaggi, and I am a Native Texan living in Texas. Most Texans root for the home team, but this was a slap in the face to every Boxing fan around the World. Texas Politics beat Mr. Malignaggi, NOT Mr Diaz. Am glad Mr. Malignaggi said something after the fight, and though I do not agree with the foul language, he was correct in his assessment. A Texan who agrees 100% with a non-Texan, who was fighting someone who lives in Texas? WOW! GB has tarnished the sport and already had the other fight lined-up before this one was done...money talks. Most fighters indicate their team will be making decisions, but Mr Diaz already indicated who he wanted to fight, as if it had also been "set-up" with contracts signed. I am merely a middle-aged woman who likes to see the fellows mix-it-up in the ring, as far back as the Mr. Ali days. This is the first time I've taken any steps to protest the outcome of a match, which means I obviously feel strongly against people being robbed in my State. To further apologize to Mr.Malignaggi would not heal the wound created by the money-sucking monsters such as the GB and his judges. But not all of us in Texas are bad. My further protest will be to NOT purchase any GBP PPV, to allow MY money to be kept from the greedy claws of cheats.

Thats exactly what I had paulie by one round..
i had paulie by two rounds but i wont argue one round. anyway, that fight was rigged from the very begining. a hometown fight with three hometown judges. the hometown fighters promoter runs the show. what else can go wrong? isnt a fight supposed to have 1 judge from each fighters hometown and one neutral judge?
Re: Don't ever fight in Texas, 118-110 WTF?!?!?!?
I remember the song "Blind in Texas" the lone star is hot tonight by WASP
How a absolutely true
Re: Don't ever fight in Texas, 118-110 WTF?!?!?!?
Had it 7 rounds to Paulie and 5 for Juan. Not a fan of either man but whoever saw it 118-110 should be pooped on to death:mad:
I wanna see Juan Diaz vs Vic Ortiz next, let's see if they'll rob the Vicious one.
Re: Don't ever fight in Texas, 118-110 WTF?!?!?!?
It was a robbery and it was an awful decision. I'm not even a massive fan of Malignaggi, but thought he put up a fantastic performance and thoroughly deserved the win. I was worried going into the second half of the fight, but he put his boxing head on taught Diaz a lesson down the stretch with some of his best boxing in years. I'm glad Paulie was so vocal after the fight too, I really felt for the guy because it wasn't even that close IMO. Paulie had it by a good couple of rounds.
Diaz is another on my list of unlikeables with the establishment obviously having an agenda which will see him through to a big fight no matter what. And screw Max Kellerman with his horrible, horrible comments after the fight. I cannot stand that ignorant, gurning prat and here he only added to my ire. A fight is a fight and the fighter who wins the most rounds should get the decision. I don't see any way to try and justify it on any other grounds than that. Oh, but it's the market talking....or some empty yuck like that.
Kellerman, Golden Boy, the judges and Diaz can all rot. Horrible bunch of frauds with their fake smiles and handshakes behind closed doors. An awful result for anyone that loves boxing and another reason to care less about it.

Yeah that shit pissed me off....bhop fought on HBO for years and there's no way his style is more appealing than Paulie's. The crowd likes the flashy hand speed and combos. They (HBO) even pushed john fucking ruiz where i know there where several fights where "the market" could have been an excuse to take his WBA strap.
