But technically he is a league if not leagues above andre dirrell who i regard as a heavy hitter that should definitely one day win a world title. either way..its gonna be a night to remember!!
You know i respect your opinion mate. But two things you said there, Firstly he threw away his superior skillset against Taylor, so you think he has a superior skillset than Taylor?? Id disagree with that mate 100%.
Secondly he is leagues ahead of Dirrell technically??? Technically Froch is horrible if you go by textbook he is a bad example I think Dirrell is far more technical than Froch but Froch has alot more factors going into this fight.
Re: Froch vows to knock out Dirrel
I was watching the Taylor fight again earlier today actually. Froch looked so awkward in those early rounds. His style is very strange, the way he keeps his hands low and stretches out with that jab of his. Taylor had his way with him for most of the early rounds. It's hard to tell whether Taylor simply gassed as the fight went on or Froch adjusted. History would suggest the former, but it shows how easily Froch can be outboxed. Calzaghe would have had a field day with him IMO. Dirrel is untested really, so I can see Froch using his experience to push Dirrel hard late on and maybe force the stoppage. I would hope for Froch to have learned from the Taylor fight though, he surely knows he was well down going into the last few rounds there.
Taylors collapse was one of the most memorable in recent times. He's accumulated a couple of them now. I hope he too learns from it and tries to hold more if in trouble against that bald German dude.

I do understand what your getting at
Froch is very much in the mould of calzaghe in that he doesnt possess superior strength, speed or footwork to the top stateside fighters.
But he is very good at working out an opponents strategyu early in a contest and beating his opponent to the punch with his ring knowledge. How often was calzaghe classed as a show pony who would eventually get found out by lacy/kessler even mitchell??

He came out of his comfort zone, went to america to fight a guy who was a class above anything he had been in with before and for 6rounds froch did indeed look like clinton woods mark 2.
But the way he got himself back into the fight to the point of knocking his opponent out was a joy to behold. He had an off night and simply failed to climatise himself to the situation at hand. But he was still able to knockout an established world champion who will prove a hell of a lot of people wrong on saturday night against abraham!!

I can't agree with that. Calzaghe had more speed and footwork than most fighters at his weight class anywhere in the world. Americans may not like his style, but no one doubts his genius in the ring. Froch shouldn't even be compared to Calzaghe. He has nothing on Calzaghe. Nothing.
Re: Froch vows to knock out Dirrel
I was checking out fightnews, and there was a article with Froch calling Dirrell gaunt. Froch needs to look in a mirror once in awhile. He is saying Direll's face looks sucked in.....but the pictures are exactly opposite, dirrell looks fine and Froch's cheekbones are sticking out and his eyes are sucked in.

Maybe his vision is impaired too?

Froch has a bit of a thing for being a pot calling a kettle black. He was saying Dirrell was a gobby prick who should realize that you have to earn the right to talk shiit about fighters who've achieved more than you. All I could think was 'Joe Calzaghe'? It's also quite funny considering how much shit Froch has been saying about Dirrell in the build-up, whilst Dirrell has been fairly laid-back by comparison.

Froch is borderline delusional in a lot of interviews. I remember reading one a while ago where he said he can easily continue boxing for another five years because he doesn't take many punches in fights.

He's beyond belief. In the original press conference for the tournament, he described himself as the best fighter of the modern era & how this tournament would be definitive proof of that. :-X
Apparently years ago he said that he was better sportsman than David Beckham because Beckham could only cross a ball, whilst he was a complete fighter. I think this was just after he beat Magee.
I thought the best though was I saw an interview & he described how he wanted to keep hold of his good looks. I thought he'd told a great joke until he followed it up by saying how because of this fighters like him, PBF & ODLH were good for the sport
Absolutely mental, unless he thinks a couple of birds screaming his name in the Trent FM Arena makes him Nottingham's answer to Brad Pitt ;D

It still isn't sold out either.
Trent FM Arena Nottingham - Booking Site
I'm hoping he wins, it's not like we've got tons of world level boxers and can pick and choose which ones to support. I wanted him to beat Taylor too but after a few rounds he was so outclassed I wanted him to get flattened. I have a funny feeling I'll be thinking the same way a few rounds into Saturday's fight but I have a feeling Froch will scrape a win somehow.

With the hook on that thing, it would end up more like that film Hostel :-\
I'm not Froch's biggest fan, but I've been unconvinced by whether Dirrell is really ready to step up to this level. However, I was boxrecking (yes I just verbed that) his opposition & looked at Froch's & noticed that he's never fought a fighter over 6ft above the most basic domestic level. In fact only Brian Magee & Tony Dodson have even been 6ft of his respectable opponents. I bring this up because having seen that vid you posted, Dirrell appears to have a decent height advantage. I think finding a sparring partners like Dirrell would be nigh on impossible because you see very few fighters that tall with anything even approaching Dirrell's speed.
Makes me feel this is much more even than some think.

Whenever I see Froch I for some reason think of Shock G, and not for his lyrics :p

He's an inch taller than Froch and has less than half an inch in reach over him, hardly gargantuan.
Sorry, you're right, Oganov is just pushing 5 foot 9...
It was his most recent opponent, Derrick Findley who was 5 foot 6...
He might be stronger than two pumped up middle weights (arguably light middle in Derrick Findley's case) but he's not going ot be stronger than Froch, that's one thing you can count on.
Derrick Findley is the most musclebound guy you could ever imagine for that weight, I'd say 5'6 is a big stretch and no way he could get to that low of a weight. He's really stocky I covered his fight with Andre Ward he's a menacing dude. Could possibly make 154 but he's a big weight lifter I doubt he would slim down. That actually might be the toughest fight Ward has had as a pro I'd say he had more respect for Findley then he did Miranda. I never got to see the fight with Dirrell but Findley is always fun to watch, good solid fighter who can make up for the height disadvantage quick.
Anyways, the only reason I brought up Dirrell's athleticism is because like I said, Froch is ignorant. Really he is, he's been consistently ignorant throughout his whole career and like was mentioned earlier, when he talks about Dirrell half the time he's talking about Ward. There is a good chance that he can just be wowed by Dirrell. For Hattonthehammer, who's posts are always so eloquent, Dirrell's hand speed is A LOT faster then that of Pascal and Dirrell's. He operates on a different level in terms of speed and while he might not ever accomplish what Taylor did (he has by far the best resume of the tournament even if one wins out), he certainly is a hell of a lot faster.
