Just heard Roach on tv say floyd wants the fight at 154??

if the fight at 154, automatically 10 oz. gloves will be used. rules state that fights at 154 and up (to heavyweight) should use 10 oz. gloves.

How do you conclude this about Floyd? What are you going by? You are aware that Floyd has never asked for a catchweight or any fight to be above welterweight, right? Roach is the one who wants the weight to be his way. He even had a stipulation of against Cotto of $1 million a pound if he went over that catchweight. Roach even threatened to call the Cotto fight off if Cotto came in at 147. You must have Floyd and Roach confused.

Jose, I guess you missed it. Read the other posts. I stated Floyd has never asked for a catchweight. And he hasn't. That would be like saying Cotto asked Pac for a catchweight when in actuality Pac's team asked for the catchweight and Marquez's team asked Floyd for the catchweight. Where did I lose you? Once again, Floyd never asked for the catchweight. Marquez did. Floyd wanted it at 147 like all of his fights. And yes, Floyd didn't honor Marquez's request of the catchweight. I don't know how to explain this any simpler. Come on Jose, you're making this harder than it is.

Personally, I think the fight should be at a catchweight of 152 pounds with the only stipulation that Manny be allowed to carry a baseball bat. Fairs fair.

fight should be at 147 using 8 oz. gloves. both boxers can comfortably make 147, why fight at 154?

If I was Floyd, I would be embarrassed to even mention the number 154.. Considering he won't even fight the big fighters at 147, but honestly he should have been moving up and conquering 154 anyway... Now he's even saying that he'll go up to 154 for a guy who'd have to double his meal intake and make himself sick probably just to get anywhere close to that weight..

I know Floyd probably isn't serious, but I wouldn't even joke about 154 when there isn't a 154 pound guy in the entire sport who he'd fight...

But he'd happily move up their to double his size advantage over someone...

Floyd came in light for his fight with DLH at 154, it would be far smarter for him to fight Williams at 147 where he is more comfortable. Don't get me wrong, Williams will be dangerous at any weight.

If Floyd wins I think he's just say that he's beating the P4P number one at the P4P's natural weight.. What else is there to do in the sport??

Oh, there's one thing of course, move up to 154 and fight who many consider the biggest threat to him.....
Is such logic appealing to Floyd?? Not from previous history... But I never totally write someone off... Hope Floyd really plans to go out with a bang when he genuinely retires..

And the fight you suggested would certainly be nice... Even if it's not the biggest money fight in the world...
