You make a good point actually. Collazo hurt him also and almost took him out.
I think Hatton showed a very good chin in the Collazo fight. While Collazo is not a hard puncher, he was tattooing Hatton all night and only managed to hurt him in the 12th round.
I think Collazo put him down earlier on the fight but it was ruled a slip. I'm pretty sure he was hurt around the 8th. Hatton was out on his feet in the 12th. Collazo just couldn't finish him.
Re: Ricky Hatton ready to return
I guess now is as good of a time as ever to fight Witter, who hasn't exactly looked stellar himself lately. Hatton/JMM could be a very exciting fight. I think the best thing Hatton could do is just pressure, pressure, pressure like his old self. Otherwise he runs the risk of getting caught between styles, which could make for a very short night against a counter puncher like JMM.
Re: Ricky Hatton ready to return
Witter is out with a cruciate ligament injury, plus Hatton hates enough not to give him a shot, plus he does not want to lose to a Brit, plus.....

How about the rematch he promised Collazo then. Those are the only two fights that have elements left undone.
Collazo and Witter

...plus Collazo is a southpaw, plus Hatton is out of his depth as a welterweight....

Unfortunatley it will take a beating from someone considered a lesser opponent than the level he's been fighting to convince him.
Maybe Naseem Hamed come come back and fight him.... assuming Naz could lose 4 stone to get down to 140 ;D
;D Haha.
Hatton the other, white meat.
(we have an ad here by the butchers association about the "other white meat").
Re: Ricky Hatton ready to return
I've always liked Ricky...
That said, Marquez should win this fight in a competetive fashion. It wouldn't surprise me if Marquez hit the canvas at least once. I agree that it's nice to see Marquez grabbing some big paydays prior to his disembarking on the sport. Both of these guys are at about the same point in their careers... the end... but they've still definitly got some fireworks left in them. They've both got great attitudes and fighting spirit.
I just hope that the fight can be fought in such a way that neither get seriously injured as they're both reaching points where it's a possibility.
...but as I said, Marquez by desision.
