Saying that though Federer has played his best tennis in theis Open for over 12 months.
Like I said in an earlier post Federer has been shaky even in the slams in the last 12 months might sound a bit retarded as he won two of them but the French he had a comfortable draw and no Nadal, Wimbeldon Roddick bottled it at a set up and 5-1 up in the second set tie break, this time last year Nadal beat him in the final and Nadal was very average I honestly think Federer thought he had missed his chance to equal/beat Sampras record 12 months ago hence the tears he saw that Nadal was quite average in that final but still beat him, then he seemed to do a mini bottle job of his own when he was taking Del Potro to school in the Us Open final.
So in truth Federer has been noway near his solid best over the last 12 months, but he has imo played his best tennis in this event for a very longtime.
Should be a cracker.
murrays only hope is by just going for it early doors and looking to expose any potential fatigue in fed
Has to win the big points and has got to be brutal when those break points do come along. Even with all that he has to hope federer suffers some kind of mini emplosion and the occasion gets the better of him.
Ive got federer to win it in 4
What are you talking about?
Either way, Murray has the skills to make this a good match. I think he takes Federer.
Re: Australian Open Tennis
I just went outside and it's f'n scorching hot today, and supposed to be the same tomorrow.. Not sure how late they play, but this has been the 2 hottest days of the tournament, so that could have an effect if either reacts poorly to the heat..

That will be great to watch the women players sweat on that court.
Re: Australian Open Tennis
Good match here, Henin had a really good run to close out the 2nd set, forced Serena into a lot of bad shots and Serena seemed to mail in the end of the second set. Henin is just a great player though, I only began watching tennis right towards the end of her run before she retired so I've never seen her in prime form like this. Technically she's just solid and always keeps the pressure on and is excellent at making you pay for bad shots. Serena really battled back well here in the second set though, she struggled to hold her first serve, battled back strong and then broke Henin right back.
And now Henin is on the way to breaking even.

Yeah, 36'C last time I checked. Hopefully it will cool a little by tonight, but they are going to be sweating buckets. :-\
Re: Australian Open Tennis
Seems to be raining out there, they've got the roof on.
Re: Australian Open Tennis
Fed has won the first two sets, Murray not lookin too good.
Re: Australian Open Tennis
Well done to Federer, he got the job done. I thought Murray was playing far too cautiously in the first two sets and Federer made him pay. Murray really should have taken the third set, but it all seemed a bit much for him. He even shed a few tears afterwards.
Federer is still the man, but I'm certain Murray can win a major this year. He might have lost, but he did well on the whole. He just couldn't find the same kind of form against the man he needed it the most. Murray seemed to be carrying an injury in that final set too, he was limping a bit after the match.
Re: Australian Open Tennis
Unless Fedd retires, Murray will always be the bridesmaid.
