So when I here moronic, childish armchair fans complain about not being clean. It makes me think have you ever been a pro boxer, or a top athlete in any sport. It just makes me think that you don't understand the level of commitment to be at there level.
Personal habitants is what they choose, *personal*.
I'm sure Ricky would make you his huckleberry if you said it face to face, but hey what am I thinking. You're an internet expert ;)
you forgot Arguello, Whitaker,
and Tapia just to name a few more, all of them bigger names and more successful than Hatton and yet they felt the same burn from the fans, he's no victim stop trying to make him out to be one, he made a stupid mistake now he has to deal with the consequences
Have a word with yourself mate, Tapia decent career, bigger name than Hatton? Sorry remind me the PPV fights he was involved in?
you have to remember that he fought in a time where not EVERY fight was put on PPV, but he had a HUGE following especially for his fight against Romero, and i meant it more on accomplishments, him and Ricky are about even
Tapia maybe just shades it in what he has done in his career with how long he defended his title, Like Ricky though lost the majority of his big fights, but in terms of who is the bigger name. I think Hatton is a much bigger name by far just for the fact he has fought two of the biggest fighters in the history of the sport who will probably go down as top 25 of all time.
Re: Ricky Hatton's only flaw is being human
Yep, Tapia was huge in the states especially when he first fought Danny Romero and all the drama behind it. The fight was on regular HBO and not PPV probably because of the weight they fought at. In fact I can't really remember any fight below 130 that was on PPV. The only fights I can remember being on PPV at 130 or lower was Pac and his wars with Morales, Barrera, and Marquez.
Tapia was a better all round fighter than Hatton and in my eyes more accomplished.

HAHAHAHAHA you biased yank! That's funny!
Tapia didn't have a war with barrera. He was on the wrong end of a one sided beating. It was no war though.

And I didn't say Tapia had a war with Barrera. Reread it again you dumb fuck. Go back to spamming how Haye is the legit HW champ and an atg. No wonder people here consider your posts to be so shitty and contributes nothing at all.

Johnny Tapia deserved two wins over Paulie Ayala, the 1st fight was close but he deserved it. And in the rematch he totally outboxed Paulie Ayala and was robbed.
He beat good names like Danny Romero, Nana Kondau, and made 13 title defenses at Bantamweight. Aswell as winning world titles at 3 weightclasses, i'd say he edge's Ricky Hatton quite clearly.

Kostya Tszyu was 35 and past his prime, yes it was a good win for Ricky Hatton. Considering Kostya Tszyu was P4P ranked, but other than that. Johnny Tapia clearly has the edge.
He won 3 world titles in 3 weightclasses, and made 13 title defenses at Bantamweight. Its just the lower weightclasses don't get recognition, or the world wide attention like the higher weightclasses do.
Not only do i think Johnny Tapia overall edges it because of his accomplishments, he's clearly a much better fighter aswell.
Lastly Ricky Hatton wasted too much of his career, before actually winning a world title. Taking on mediocre or shot fighters, where as Johnny Tapia lost 4 years because of problems outside the ring, just imagine how even better his career could of been. Even though he already has a very good career.
Re: Ricky Hatton's only flaw is being human
ricky may have done better at the lower weights because of the closer the classes are together
ricky may have won 3 world titles at 3 weights because its easier to do down there
was tzu past his best? i dunno, he had had some good results running up to the hatton fight and people were saying he was unbeatable
ricky was a massive underdog
and whatever path rickys carear took and whether or not he went the right route, he fought three fighters all considered the best in the world lb for lb by many boxing experts at the time of the fight
ok he lost 2 of those, but is thats something tapia did?
Re: Ricky Hatton's only flaw is being human
In conclusion I would like to make the observation that Ricky Hatton is most likely human and that this inherently brings with it flaws which kind of ties in with human condition issues.
That is all.
