As for Juanma vs Manny III, sure, even though Erik Morales beat him clearly and JMM gave Pac his most difficult challenge, the opposition that Manny has faced compared to Juanma may give Manny the edge on this one. Sure, Manny’s opponents may be going downhill, old, damaged goods, etc. Now that I think about it, JMM opposition is not a walk in the park either considering how they at least not passed their prime, downhill, damaged goods, etc.
Will there be random blood tests for this one?
I don't agree with Bob Arum trying to match Pacquiao with Mosley but I agree with random blood test. Should they also check in the blood test the presence of urine?;D
First time I hear a Filipino agree with blood tests, interesting :). Hey! Let JMM drink all the urine he wants! I'm tempted to donate some of mine to give him a boost:cool:.
JMM asking for a 50/50 is a bit too much. I agreed with Floyd asking for more and later 50/50 but now, I think the bigger draw is Manny after his recent exciting fights. So now Bob Arum doesn't want any blood tests, eh?

Over the last 4 years Pac's on the night weights have increased by a total of 5lbs, but in that period of time he's fought in 5 different weight classes. He weighed in at 144lbs against Morales in 06, and weighed in at 149 against Clottey. That's the lowest and the highest he's gone.
When Pacquiao and Marquez fought in 08, Pacquiao had a 4lb advantage on the night.
As for Marquez being ineffective at 135, i can only point to the fact that he's actually stopped Katsidis, Diaz and Casamayor at 135. People talk about the competitiveness of the fights as an indicator of Marquez not being solid at that weight, but i think that is more down to how he has chosen to fight. Toe to toe mainly, and it's worked because he has stopped all 3 opponents. When he ventured above 135 he fought Mayweather. Mayweather is exceptional. I'd give Marquez a great shot at anyone at 140.
Thank you, perfect post. Marquez makes incredibly exciting fights and while I don't think he should venture above 135 (I don't like guys chasing fights at other weights, I'd rather them just clean up 1 division and stay there) to say Pac would slaughter him is just....foolish. Pacquiao is not that much of a different fighter at the higher weights he's just fighting different guys. Marquez is always going to give Pacquiao fits, always!

Just a thought! What if urine actually works as a masking agent? I heard of stranger things happening.
I actually think for Roach isn't putting too much thought into it, to say Pac fights everyone at the 147 limit. It is only advantageous against the much larger fighters. What difference does it make for the smaller fighter or for Pacquiao to make a weight 140-147? JMM would just have the same training advantage as Pac, not having to dehydrate, Right? JMM doesn't have to pack on the weight because Pac ain't coming in any larger. The other 140 lb fighters just have less weight to knock off as well. So really it's kind of a stupid statement.
I think Mosley has lost some of his draw but that is just a thought. Obviously Arum don't think he has and that is why Mosley is Pacquiao's the first alternative. It's anyone guess who the biggest draw for Pacquiao is outside of Mayweather. JMM, Berto or Martinez. Khan or JCC Jr might be the next biggest draws. Who knows, they all have appeal one way or another.
I read someone write Arum is a joke. That is just stupid. Arum knows how to promote a fight. That is exactly why he is a hall of fame promoter. He may not be likable, but he is far from being a joke. Arum makes money in boxing, the same way Don king knows how to make money in boxing.

Just don't allow JMM to drink those urine less than 12 hrs before the fight. I don't want him to be throwing up all those urine on Pac :puke:.

JMM didn't lose both fights. 1 draw 1 loss. The more I read your posts the more I wonder if you have watched the fights. Ha. Its a pretty big one to get wrong considering how much you write about it.
Ha
yep dude you are right, you obviously are the voice of boxing
I bow to your amazingness
I'm not sure i have commented on JMM v Pac before tho, have I?
"The Voice", I like that. Unfortunately that I am not. You can still bow though.

I don't think Marquez will be ineffective at 140 or above. I'd back him against certain world-class fighters at those weights.
However, even allowing for the interesting weight comparison, I think Pac has improved (surprised people think he hasn't. just the experience alone of slaughtering much bigger world-class fighters must have done wonders for him) and looks much more solid up in weight. I wouldn't hesitate in backing him over Marquez now.

Agreed.
Consider this - who would you favor in fights between Marquez and Pac's recent opponents (Clottey at 147, Cotto at 147, Hatton at 140)?
