After about the 5th or 6th all you see from him is pawing jab, and then he tries to throw one big shot and usually misses. He does alright against smaller guys. I still cant believe he knocked down Wlad 3 times in that first fight.:p His most impressive win to me was Jameel McCline, he probably would have lost that if McCline didnt gas out.
True Peters is another in the crop of lazy heavyweights. Perhaps a fight between Chambers and Helenius would be a gauge as to where the young prospect scores. At this moment i don't see him beating someone at Chambers level.

It would be a step up, but I think Helenius has decent power. If he hits Chambers early then Chambers will go into a shell and wont be able to box against the taller guy. I think Helenius stops him as well.

OK No Contest, do you think Sam Peter was in good shape? Vs Vitali he wasn't in good shape either, but vs Wlad yes he was in good fighting shape and he was motivated and had that Sam Peter shown up then I HIGHLY doubt Helenius would have stopped him....Would he have still beaten him? Maybe, but Peter stood a better chance if he was in shape.
Helenius doesn't impress me, he's like Liakhovich with a little more pop.
Lyle, you must admit that neither Klitschko was able to KO Sam Peter. Vitali made him quit, and Wlad TKo'd him, but to flat out knock the man unconscious is somewhat impressive, no ?
Re: Sam Peter vs Robert Helenius 4-2-2011
Helenius is one of the best now but is a bad copy of Wlad. Nice Win but wlad kos him if they fight
Re: Sam Peter vs Robert Helenius 4-2-2011
This is officially the end of Samuel Peter, what a waste of space.

To be fair, it's possible neither of the Klitschko's were any better than Helenius at 15-0, in fact both lost when stepping up in competition. At this point Helenius stands little chance at defeating the Klitschko's. No sense in wasting the man, let him learn his trade.

Helenius gets beat by any top ten heavyweight.

Helenius is 27....he needs to stay active and get in better shape. By comparison when Wlad was 27 he had like 40 fights already....so looking at their records it's not exactly apples to apples when you compare the 15-0 marks. Fighters move along at different paces and Helenius seems good enough to me to really start testing himself on a regular basis vs the top contenders
Hulk, I'm not saying it's not a good win for Helenius, I'm just (as a fan) disgusted by how Sam Peter came in to fight, or shall I correct myself and say "lay down"...I don't put the stoppage of a 260 pound Sam Peter on par with Wlad's stoppage of a 241 pound Sam Peter. Yes Sam Peter has power regardless of his weight and yes he has a good chin regardless of his weight, but his stamina and drive to win are very much affected by his weight (as we saw vs Eddie Chambers). Yes it is impressive that Helenius got the KO (by the way, Wlad's win was also a KO at least it's marked that on boxrec), but Sam came into the fight a beaten man...260, I mean Hell did he train at all?!?!
I think a good match up for the division and honestly for both fighters is Helenius-Povetkin or maybe Pianetta, Pulev, or any other undefeated youngster....but I highly doubt that will happen so I'll suggest the more realistic matchup vs one of the following: Cedric Boswell, Jean Marc Mormeck, or some other durable veteran just so he can stay busy and get rounds in. Boswell is 41, he's been looking for a higher profile fight...granted he probably would rather have a title shot, but he's not getting one because of the competition he has fought....he would still be a good fight for Helenius.

You seem to get surprised when anyone gets a better result against a common opponent than a Klitschko;)
