Actually it is kind of like that. You took my place as the forum outlier, with your weird personal anecdotes and petty grumblings about your mundane life. That was my role, and you supplanted it so I've left the Lets Get It On board, moved in to this quieter board and started to do things away from the computer.
You seem to have done so, you are much quieter than you used to be. You need to find your mojo as I enjoy having somebody to feed off. We can share the boards and rule like we have done for a good half a decade. Just as Gandalf is important, so too is Bilbo. All the other boards are just full of people calling me a cunt anyway. I might have to run away to this one as I am being hounded by a baying and bloodthirsty public. Or I could just go and make the spam board my own, but I've heard they discriminate against post counts in there. That's prejudiced.
See it wasn't that long when I was the forum cunt. Now I'm just a formally active poster with a wretched training thread in a little used area of Saddo's.
I've been forced out of partying in the city centre and am now drinking my sorrows in a dirty little pub in a poorly lit alleyway in a desolate part of town.
And now you've wondered in here too.
Cunt.

Haha ;D
See the imagery is well and truly alive, but that is perhaps the 16th time I have been called a cunt today.
This used to be a lively place. We had wonderful gatherings and people used to come here. Sure, it was always rough, but these days you are right. It is quite empty. Boozeboxer used to prop up the bar all the time, but it seems that he has found a real bar to prop up. I tried to start the forum gay contest here, but nobody turned up and then when I went downtown they all blamed me for not getting their nominations. They just don't come to this place anymore. You lost out because you just don't hang out in the other place anymore too. You started on the mini Ivan Drago thing.
Still, anytime you want to venture downtown just come along. We can both hang out there in a strictly non-gay way.

Re: My training thread, progress, advice etc
Been looking at powerbars online tonight, they go over the doorframe allowing you to perform pullups and chinups. I feel that pullups especially are an important compound exercise and I would benefit from being able to do them.
I only have dumbells at home so no barbell work and it's hard to really work your back. I do bent over rows, and, well that's it.
So I might get this JML Iron Gym Total Upper Body Workout Bar: Amazon.co.uk: Sports & Leisure
anyone use one?

Re: My training thread, progress, advice etc
Another good workout down, slight strength increase so all good.
Thanks for all the feedback on my workout bar idea, it seems you are really not embracing my new home in the cool and swanky culture board.
Ah well, at least I have some peace and quiet..

Re: My training thread, progress, advice etc
My weekly weigh in today, and a bit of an anomoly. According to my scales my bodyfat is still 16.1%, unmoved for the last month now, but my bodyweight had increased by two whole pounds.
This is weird as I've been 135.1 for the last month, every Monday, now I'm 137.1.
I will retest tomorrow to ensure I wasn't just constipated or something but if this the case it might mean I'm actually growing some muscle at last. If my bodyfat stays the same I'm happy to gain weight of course as presumably most of it must be muscle mass.
I'd love to get back to 140lbs again, this time of lean(er) tissue.
I took a day off yesterday, first in 11 days and am getting back into things with a row, and Kinect session this evening.
Amazed I'm still keeping this up!

Fair play to you mate - feels good doesn't it!! I'm off to the gym in about an hour and have 2 personal trainer (weights) sessions booked this week. Back to 22 mins for 3 miles on the road as well, so I'm getting there.

Re: My training thread, progress, advice etc
Yeah its great that we are both committed. It's got to the stage now where it's enjoyable to me so I stick at it.
I don't do any running obviously but I have now added indoor biking to my cardio along with the rowing. I wish I had normal lungs so I could just really go for it but as long as I'm improving it's all good.
My lungs are slightly better now than they were 8 years ago which is actually pretty amazing with a degenerative disease. I've not tested, but I'm sure my resting heart rate is down a bit too, feels noticeably slower when I can hear it on my pillow at night.

I can relate to the lung bit (obviously not in same way as you) having had asthma all my life. Big obstacle having lung issues!

Yeah it is annoying. As is natural feebleness when trying to do weights.:-\

I have that too lol. Although it's not natural I used to be quite strong, I've just not touched weights for nearly 20 years and now people half my size can lift the same as me :(
Keep up what you are doing and the strength will come

Re: My training thread, progress, advice etc
Just knocked almost a second off my 500 metre pace for rowing over 10 minutes :)
Rowed for 10 minutes at a pace of 2:20:8, previous best was 2:21:5
Well chuffed. 2:20 pace is the goal!

Went down the gym with my mate tonight and he rowed 10K in 39 mins 10 secs. I aint a rower, but I reckon that's gotta be pretty impressive ?
