Froch has eclipsed Calzaghe now. If he had picked his fights he'd be unbeaten too.
I really do want the Big Man from Nottingham to take Ward, but its asking a lot at 34.
A lot of people think Carl would have got knocked out by JC but I cant see that happening, and most likely the Calzo would get a points victory by going all slappy as is his habit.

No way would Froch have been stopped by calzaghe. He may have had some tricky moments getting caught on the ropes and JC's flurries would look more damaging than they really were but Froch is so tough, amazing chin and he'll happily stand toe to toe with anyone. Not sure styles would have made it a good fight i reckon JC would have made it a shit fight and not wanted to engage at all. Would have been frustrating to watch and JC would have probably won a disputed decision.

Joe ducked glen johnson many times and eventually frank warren will be exposed as to the amount of fights were swayed to his favor and the neverending injuries!
Joe is still a great boxer but undefeated for many reasons.
Someone here mentioned Carl Froch as a 'should of been' opponent.... But I'm not sure they realise that back then it was laughable that Froch was using Calzaghe's name to gain... He was still a novice at the time.
He didn't avoid anyone but he could of made more an effort to make the big fights happen, this whole crap about being scared to fly is a cop out. He should of moved up from Super Middleweight years ago and fought Tarver, Jones, Johnson.
Let me get this right - Froch has ecplised Cazlaghe even though he lost to a man Calzaghe comfortably beat?
Calzaghe schools Kessler. Froch loses to Kessler. That makes Froch better? Hmmm....
If FRoch-Calzaghe ever happened there's only one winner. Froch is a tortoise for Calzaghe. Borderline mismatch.
Froch may not have been stopped but he sure as hell wouldn't have beaten Calzaghe. He'd have literally no chance imo.

My point rests on the fact that Carl Froch has beaten a greater number of better fighters than JC, and desnt cherrypick - this cant really be denied, can it? If you still deny it, consider this - if JC had fought and beaten the fighters Carl Froch has done in the last few years, would he be a greater champion than he is now? Well of course he would a greater champion with even more respect, in fact he would be a much more revered champion with all his doubters won over....and so clearly and blatantly what Carl has done boosts his resume prodigiously too. You cant have your cake and eat it with this argument.
Not denying that JC was the most accomplished at holding the title of supermiddleweight champion, and clearly make the list of the top ten supermiddleweights ever. But Froch clearly has the superior RESUME, just as you would have to say a 'parallel world' Calzaghe who fought all the fighters Froch has would definitely be superior in resume to 'our world' Calzaghe.

Just some point's Froch fight's with his left hand by his waist, and he is very open to counter's he has a good chin. Joe would have made him look A FOOL just not on his level, i have seen many great champ's over the many year's and Joe is up there with them but NOT Froch . By the way Ward will out box him sorry to say it he is not that good.:sheep:
I think Joe would win a UD - possibly a wide UD and badly mark up Froch in the process. Froch's chin and heart would see him stay for the full 12.
