True, but saying it was prescribed is just making excuses for Toney, steroid use is illegal for pro boxers, any way you wanna look at it, it's cheating, because it gives you an unfair advantage. But James basically gets a pass or a slap on the wrist for this shit, what would have happened if this had been Pacquiao? They would have crucified him.

Well, who are they? If you mean the athletic commission they would penalize him in exactly the same fashion as they did Toney.. If you mean us nerds on the internet sure people would give Pacquiao more flack but woop de doo. Fwiw I think a lot of people have already unleashed that on Pacquiao, I know I'll always feel he's been using something illegal for the past few years and it wouldn't really change my opinion one way or another if he tested positive.
Google Nandrolone if you like, that's the steroid Toney was busted for using and it's very rarely not used for medical purposes. They prescribe it for women following menopause for osteoperosis(sp) quite frequently etc. It is naturally present in all humans much like HGH and it's quite possible to be found with higher than normal levels without actually ingesting it, several bans on athletes have been overturned due to false positives in fact. Not to say Toney didn't take it of course, just that it was really to offset a medical problem rather than give him an edge imo.
I personally think they may as well just legalize steroids at this point, let the fans watch the best athletes science can produce!;D

I wonder which Chiropractor/Nutritionist told Toney of his 'Low Hormone levels'?
Low testosterone? I have a hard time swallowing that. It is ridiculously easy to get your self diagnosed with a low hormone...
When he got caught he didn't make any noise about being 'deficient' in any hormone... he said it was a steroid being used to treat his Distal Bicep tendon tear.
Anybody want to guess what a major causative factor of Distal Bicep tendon tear is? HGH/Anabolic Steroid use.
I don't want to knock the guy too much, he's had an amazing career... but some of you fuckers... especially the ones talking about Hopkins - need to take off the rose tinted specs when it comes to 'throwback' Toney.
