I thought the decision was good although I had Khan up by one point. Really close fight. The only thing that could be said wasn't good was the point deductions and knockdown. Khan was doing a lot of pushing, but at most he deserves only one point deduction. So giving a point back to Khan, and taking away the so called knockdown, I'd still have Khan up by a single point.
REMATCH!!!!
btw-- was it only me, or did anyone also think this fight would be a snooze fest?
Never seen a point deducted for pushing, never mind 2!! I did think the first knockdown should have stood as well. (although I was pretty drunk by the time I watched the fight)
Taking the points off it probably wasn't a bad result, although I still honk khan won, just! But fair play to Peterson, fought really well. I think khan will come back from this, hopefully learn from a few mistakes and come back stronger from it.
I think peterson won by a round, it could of gone either way tho. I dont have a problem with the ref he did warn khan alot before he took the points away. Maybe petersons head was low afew times but not all the time.
I thought Khan pulled away down the stretch but Peterson put up a great effort and it was close.
There needs to be a rematch, great fight.
The truth is Peterson pulled of "a Hatton". He bullied Khan, he rammed him, he led with the shoulder and got inside.
The ref tried to let the fight flow which suits the bully fighter. It was man vs boy at times. If Hatton had done it, which he did, then I'd have been cheering when he won. I did when he knocked Tszyu about.
I still think Khan scored more scoring punches and won more rounds all told though.
I'm not complaining, hardly a massive Khan fan. But I do think Khan keeps a clean sheet in the rematch.
I thought it was a great fight. It could have gone either way.
It's an absolute CERT rematch but it wont be anywhere near Washington.
How ironic that Peterson refused to go to England incase he got robbed. (not that I think Khan was robbed, just a tight decision where point deductions were a major factor)
I think Peterson should fight Maidana. Then Khan the winner.

An even fight with the deductions giving it to Peterson. I too thought it was a cracking fight and would like to see it again.
This time Peterson should forget about boxing Khan from the off and realise that he has to be a bull in a china shop. Khan is too stupid to stick with a gameplan or listen to his corner, so once you take him out of his comfort zone the fight evens up somewhat. Peterson needs to do the same, but try and rip to the body immediately. Run at Khan and make him fluster.
Khan stuck to his gameplan very well against Malinaggi and Zab Judah. He just seemd to lose his head against Peterson and go for broke.Quote:

Had Peterson winning. Without the point deductions had Con winning. Without the point deductions and KD call had it a draw
