I'm from the Midlands (Wolverhampton) and so is Master. I've never thought of myself as a northerner or southener so I don't think there is a definitive line as such. I always just thought as southerners being anyone south of where the M1 meets the M25.
I've never been referred to as a northerner or southerner, people just to tend to take this piss out our accent. Don't blame them tbh, ours is the worst accent in the UK. :-X;D
