Re: Vitali Klitschko v Dereck Chisora
I am not really one for conspiracy theories but it does look like Vitali clenches his Jaw expecting a gentle slap and Chisora does what is expected....the unexpected. It's not clever and I can't condone it, but I did laugh. Mad as a box of frogs. I wonder if it will affect the odds. Everyone now seems to think Vitali will batter the krap out of him in the ring, as though he wasn't going to anyway. It's shows very little class, but I still want Del Boy to win, Plonker or not. Will a fired up Vitali lose his focus? we will see tomorrow night, I'm off down the bookies
Re: Vitali Klitschko v Dereck Chisora
Does Chisora actually pay someone to make his hair look like that??? That shit looks like Buckwheat from 'Our Gang'....weak.
Who the hell slaps someone?? Chisora seems to me to be like a giddy little kid that thinks he got away with something he thought was cute....Vitali is usually a mild mannered guy, and he took the humiliation of getting slapped rather well, he didn't seek immediate retribution, but may God have mercy on Dereck Saturday night. 240 is a good solid weight for Del Boy, but I just don't see him doing anything to Vitali other than that little slap he just landed.
Re: Vitali Klitschko v Dereck Chisora
Massive Klitschko fan here...but I gotta admit that was funny as fuck :D He'll regret that shit tomorrow when he gets KTFO.
Vitali stayed relatively calm after getting bitch slapped. In fact, I've only seen him lose his cool once and that was in politics ;D

Wouldn't be the first time he's done something stupid....I think his mental stability is greatly lacking. Del Boy seems to me, to be one of the guys who might try to wrestle Vitali a bit, try and pick him up in a clinch or some roughhouse tactic like that.

Re: Vitali Klitschko v Dereck Chisora
I am glad this has happened, as it's created a shed load of media attention. People don't watch boxing to see how well mannered the fighters are, they watch it to see two guys beating the shit out of each other.
If it was a punch then it might be another matter, but after the horrible beating Vit gave to Shannon Briggs, I think Chisora has little to loose by doing this. Vitali seems to beat up people whether they are nice to him or not beforehand.
Re: Vitali Klitschko v Dereck Chisora
It could be the only time Chisora leads the punch stats.
British boxer Dereck Chisora slaps Vitali Klitschko at the weigh-in

Vitali moves straight back, but leans in a manner that he can pivot away from danger. He boxes that way because of his kickboxing background. He's 6'8 and when he leans back not many people can reach him so for a "regular boxer" moving straight back is a mistake, it has only hurt Vitali 1 time and that was the cut over the eye in the Lewis fight. When Vitali leaned back the punch grazed him instead of landing flush on the cheek or jaw (for better or worse).
Wladimir is very athletic and has begun to turn opponents the way Foreman turned Frazier in their first fight. I don't see Wlad moving straight back when he's in any danger...it may have been the case early in his career when he fought out of more of a crouch, but not now.
The inside fighting, I mean I wouldn't say they "can't" fight on the inside, its more like they choose not to. They are 6'8 & 6'7...what is the benefit of fighting on the inside when you have height and reach on your side? Every fight they have is like the Falkland Islands...the opponents are Argentina, they have a short reach, the brothers are England and stay back and use their reach from distance....its boxing at a simple yet at the same time done in a very impressive manner
Funny example of Falkland Islands.
Re: Vitali Klitschko v Dereck Chisora
Vitali will come in and use up a lot of energy and will get frustrated at not being able to catch Dereck and he will tire quick. At his age, you dont come in angry and with a high tempo that hes not used to.
Also, what a pussy... Why not just instantly swing back? You have to wonder whether Dereck has put a little fear in him as Vitali backed off as Chisora came forward. He has come in light as though hes taking this more serious. Look at the shots between Barrera and Morales at there press conference. It was only a slap but it made Vitali fall sideways;D
Imagine if Mayorga was a 6,2" heavy...
