Re: A sad sad day...Antonio Margarito retires.
If anyone ever deserved a shitty life after boxing (backrupcy, pugilistic dementia, drug addiction), it's this asshole.
And I know that sounds harsh, but think about all the guys who are going to have negative repercussions after boxing on account of his doctored gloves (if you think Mosley was the first time he had it, you're niave).

Well, let me put it this way:
I don't think HBO's going to be knocking on his door anytime soon about a commentators job
.... he looks dumb as a doorstop and probably doesn't have half the brain it takes to make it as a promoter or a trainer
..... he doesn't have a TV-friendly face to do any shaving cream commercials
..... and as a convicted cheater, opportunities are going to be scarce in general.
To that, you can add that his pretty (but money-hungry-looking) wife will probably leave for greener pastures now that she's left with a "one-eyed", "has-been" bum..... and you have a pretty pathetic post-boxing picture.
Basically, all that leaves is a minimum-wage job, and a side job consisting of selling his autograph at street corners in the slums of Tijuana. But that probably won't generate too much income from his fan base made up of several dozen people.
It's a sad day, indeed (wink, wink).

Ouch! You guys are pretty brutal and he certainly deserves it for what he may have done to other fighters and what he tried to do against Mosley. I was truly gutted when Tony was caught cheating to the point of being embarresed for him, but no matter how angry it made me I just cant find it in myself to wish so many bad things on another person especially one so far removed from my own daily life but to each their own.
I put this up in jest in case someone didnt figure it out, I knew this was going to push some buttons especially for some of the "Puertos Rican fans whose hearts Tony won over in his Cotto fight" haha.

Actually bro... I owe you some thanks for putting up the thread in the first place.
When I first read Margarito was retiring, I was about to pull the trigger, and said: "Naw..... I'll just let it slide. Margo's fans are probably expecting me to pounce on the carcass by starting a thread." But then, you did it... and I waited for a few responses... and only then did I let loose with my anti-Margo barrages.
But in all honesty, I don't wish anything truly bad or catastrophic on Margarito or any other human being, for that matter. I just hope he disappears from the boxing scene altogether and doesn't make another single dime off the sport. It's only fair.
Re: A sad sad day...Antonio Margarito retires.
If this piece of shit would load his gloves against an old man then its not some giant leap of faith that he would load up against an undefeated Cotto.
Unless your retarded.

Haha ya you owe me thanks so that your comments could get muddled in with the rest of the savages that want his balls on a platter. Again to each their own but I just cant get into that kind of rage or whatever it is
I was having a conversation this morning with a client of mine about fans and their devotion to their team, player or athlete and how the fans are willing to get into fights and commit some horrific crimes against other people over what and for who? For a team who doesnt know who they are or an athlete who is never going to see them when they are in jail for a crime they committed, pretty retarded.
Boxing to me now is no different then watching a movie, it may be bullshit or it may be the fight of the century in the end it is 2 or 3 hours of entertainment plain and simple. If its real or fake, if the judges are bought, if someone is on PED's, or if someone is wearing plaster is something i cannot control and I will not let get under my skin. Will I cheer for a fighter to win a fight as much as I cheered for Tony in 2008...probably not. That was the first and last time and it was dumb for me to feel his shame when he got caught afterwards.

I'm hereby changing your handle to "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde".
One post you're proclaiming how the cheater deserved everything he got and more, and how you're angry and embarrassed by him. The next post you're labeling anyone who criticizes the cheater as "savages", calling critics "retarded", and generally going back to your pro-Margarito tone. And it's not the first time or first topic where you've done this. But rest assured I'm on to how your twisted little mind works, and not getting roped into your "peace bro" bullshit anymore.
"Bipolar disorder" I believe is the clinical term for it. Get help.

Dude are you really that lost? Go ahead and reread my posts, I called fans that get into fights with other fans retarded. You wished to see him on the corner asking for money, that his "money hungry looking wife" leave him I just dont see why you have that kind of anger over a fighter?? Is Miguel Cotto your best friend? Was he paying your bills or something?
Re: A sad sad day...Antonio Margarito retires.
I used to have alot of love for Margarito and his fighting style but the day he was caught with loaded wraps was the day i stopped supporting him.
His whole career is tainted now imo and his retirement is a good thing for the sport.

Don't be moronic. Cotto's neither my friend nor does he pay my bills. You, on the other hand, seem to swing from Margarito's balls, and have constantly defended him..... never mind that he retired from boxing in disgrace, having been convicted and suspended as a cheater, and getting his ass handed to him in a grudge match where he wanted nothing more than to crush Cotto. But he didn't... he lost... and he retired in disgrace.
I've been very clear in what I've said. I wish no personal injury or catastrophic misfortune on Margarito..... but I also hope he never makes another penny from anything even remotely related to boxing. And if he goes broke and ends up back in the slums where he came from.... no tears will be shed over here. He cheated in a sport where cheating could kill a man. If that's ok by you ('cause you've made it clear you couldn't care less), then good for you, kid.
You started this idiotic "A sad sad day..." thread. You should've expected the outpouring you've received.

Re: A sad sad day...Antonio Margarito retires.
Resto and Lewis did jail time and were banned from boxing outside of a bar stool for Lewis.
Margaresto made millions off the same thing.
Fuck him and the horse he rode in on.

Ok Brian calm down already. Haha this is what Im talking about I bet if we were having this conversation in person you would have already gotten in my face about it and would be ready and willing to throw punches, its not that serious. Ya he's a cheater and I agree that he should have been done the moment he got caught, but thats about as far as it goes, if I hated him vocalized it as much as you do would that make you feel better?
Re: A sad sad day...Antonio Margarito retires.
This is your opening post..... and below it is a pretty sensible post by someone else, which just about sums it all up. Maybe I'm being too soft on the cheating bastard. So I'll just second that "fuck him and the horse he rode in on" comment, if it's ok with you.

Im sure many of those same fans will comment on this thread about their love for the Tijuana Tornado, Antonio Margarito.

Ok in all honesty, did you really think I was being serious about the post? We dont know each other at all but I find it hard to believe that you didnt see the fact that it was joke? I practically wrote it for you to begin with.
In case you missed it, I was joking. I dont think Margarito won the hearts of anyone much less Puerto Ricans the day he beat Cotto. I dont think he is a champ as he most likely cheated in all his biggest fights and wins starting with Golden Johnson. I dont wish him a good or bad life because it is not mine and what he did thankfully didnt affect mine. He should have been booted, served jail time, and forced to look for another way to make a living after he was caught.
For us that are spectators of the sport and members of this thread it should still be fun to watch and talk about boxing and because some of us have been debating boxing and fighters against each other for years now I dont think a joke thread should be so out of line or taken so seriously
