Re: GGG vs Stevens would be a war while it lasts
Wondering if Rubio v Chavez rematch will happen. Wasn't he protesting Chavez not being middleweight and such?! Didn't think of him and Golovkin, that would be a more than solid and all and all surpasses last three if ya ask me.
Re: GGG vs Stevens would be a war while it lasts
The fact that Stevens, despite all his talk, won't fight GGG for a career-high payday, shows how difficult it is for him to get fighters to step into the ring with him.
Here's hoping Murray's visa issues get sorted out.

Right. I'm pretty sure HBO rejected the idea of the fight being in the UK.
I have to think that HBO is airing Geale-Barker to line up a fight for GGG. It wouldn't really make sense otherwise, although I understand that Sturm is the mandatory. The winner of Geale/Barker is the best possible option.
Re: GGG vs Stevens would be a war while it lasts
If Barker beats Geale you wont see him against Golovkin. Barker is basically at the end of his career and that "world" title will allow him to have a couple of home defenses for the same money he'll get for GGG ironing him :)
Re: GGG vs Stevens would be a war while it lasts
I dont see Barker beating Geale. Its such a shame that in this period where Britain and Ireland have had the best middleweights they have produced in such a long time that they mighnt get a world title out of it. Shame the Murray-Martinez/Sturm fights werent in England or a neutral venue.
Re: GGG vs Stevens would be a war while it lasts
I think Murray should fight Macklin in the UK or Ireland if he can't get a visa to fight Golovkin. Then Barker against the winner or Andy Lee and then the winner ;D, they are all big domestic fights that will make money and be entertaining.

What difference does the venue make? Unless it's to give him a win he doesn't really deserve I don't see how a different venue changes anything

Because Murray was robbed in Germany and Argentina. He didn't need decisions he didn't deserve in those fights just fair ones that he didn't get IMO.

I don't think he was robbed. They were both very close fights. But I could see him getting a decision in England in either of the fights and if he had they wouldn't have been called robberies either. It's just the way boxing is. Home advantage is an advantage. It really shouldn't be but it is
Very close fight with sturm and while the majority had murray winning its not unreasonable to have sturm taking it or a draw, hell if I remember the british commentary team had it a draw.
Ok, I used robbed just for ease, but just backing up original point that he wouldn't have needed a home town decision in either of those fights to be a deserved winner.
