I have always said this. Latino can only refer to Latin people---i.e. the Romans, then later on the Italians, perhaps the Spaniardds and maybe just MAYBE the Portuguese, the Romanians, the French but that is stretching it already.

But for these indigenous peoples of the amrericas---like the Taino Indians of PR or the Arawak Indians of Haiti or the Navajo or Apache or even the Mixtep or Aztec people to refer to themselves as LATINO!!!
