What Hopkins need to realise is his last big win was in 2008, 6 years ago agaisnt Pavlik. Since then hes lost to a shit Dawson, drawn with an average Pascal and beaten a couple of europeans that arent that good, f he beats Kov he gets huge respect but the mosre likely scenario is he gets found out,

I don't completely disagree with him. If you were to take a white American who had the exact same record and was world champion at this age, he'd be a lot more well known outside of boxing no matter how shitty and narrow minded a person he was. I think it's a little bit wishful or naive to pretend that isn't true.
What is more important though; and what obviously doesn't register with old Hopkins, is that he gets a lot less respect than he would in no small part because he comes up with stuff like this every other time you put him behind a mic. If there were a white Bernard Hopkins, he'd basically be some Aryan Brotherhood thug who was on record saying he'd never lose to a black man and that they are holding him back. But apparently that guy would be on Milk Cartons and sitting on massive endorsement deals if you ask this idiot:rolleyes:

His devastating KO loss to Kovalev will be largely ignored as well.
If he wants attention he should submit himself to drugs testing. I'm sure people would love to know the truth about his longevity in the sport. I guess that's not the kind of attention he wants tho.

I think Hopkins went on the TRT after mixing with some MMA fighters. I think its the coaches he has and his hard work that makes him last so long. But I agree I think hes on TRT now and wouldn't fair so well without it. Age catches us all.

In fairness I think that's a leap. You cant assume that because he's fought for 26 years he is taking Peds.Its not all that uncommon for technicians to have long careers and in some cases even technical/scrap savvy guys like Duran. Pep fought for 26 years and fought close to 250 times. Moore for 28 years and 220 fights. I dont think I've ever seen Hopkins get beat up and hurt bad. Safety first counter punchers like Hop preserve well. His last few years have been testimony to that as his punch count and over all look has shown some major decline.
Another thing to consider is that he has not knocked anyone out since that love tap on Oscar. If he's taking roids then he needs to change dealers.
Lastly although I think he can be a narcissistic, self righteous, racist, delusional dip shit, he's one of the last guys that I think would juice. During his middleweight run he was routinely close to the same weight on fight night as he was at the weigh in. That is no easy task when you started at 175. The guy quite literally lived at the gym. He did do it the hard way and it paid off. I just dont see him turning his back on all those things he taught his kids. I dont see him gambling with that shit at this stage in his life. He'd rather stink the place out and pull off the win.

Hopkins is he a classic box fighter NO, is he exciting to WATCH NO, does he in dear himself to
the the public NO.
What is he a criminal that turned to boxing, he has made a very decent living out of boxing,
he is a RACIST, if Calzaghe had made the same comment he would still be slated today,
but Joe has more class in his little finger than Hopkins.
But Hopkins is given a free ride by all referees, to brake ever rule in the book he's a cheat
a play actor, a rather unlike able individual inside or outside the ring.;)
